Think pink ... and black ... and white

Hello everybody! I hope you had a lovely day. I sure did. I've been crafting almost all day plus the sun was shining all day so it that got me even in a better mood. What else could I wish for?

One of the things I made is this black, white and pink card.

So, what do you think? I've always liked this colour combination, but I don't think I've ever actually used it. I'm always a bit scared to use black on my projects because I'm affraid they would turn out too dark, to depressing. Here however I think that black just adds a tiny bit of elegance. But maybe that's just me ...

I folowed the great sketch from Hanna and friends blog. First I was actually thinking about just making a round tag (see the center of the card), but then I changed my mind and turned the "tag" in the center of my card.

For this project I used different shades of pink paper (the patterned one is from Provo Craft and the plain pink paper is from my stash), black paper and white paper. I made the swirl with Marianne design die and circles were made with my Spellbinders dies. Butterfly confetty, crystals and ribbon are from my stash. The image is a rubber stamp from Posh impressions. I also did some embossing,as you can see. I used Cottage floral embossing folder from Craft contepts to do so. And the corner punch I used is from Family treasures. Oh, I also used Tim Holtz's Spun sugar and Weathered wood distress inks. And of course I just "had to" distress the edges a bit too (I just used scissors to do so), I love this look.

I'd like to add this card to the following challenges:
Hanna and friends: Sketch
Paper romance: Black and white plus one other colour
Charisma cardz: To die for
Sarah Hurley challenge blog: Embossing
The shabby te room: Bingo (I used die cuts/punch, embossing and ribbon)
Let's ink it up: Die cuts/punches
