A special bag for a special person

Heya! I hope you've been enjoying your weekend so far. I think I caught a cold so I've been drinking lots of tea and have been staying in most of the time. I'm feeling much better than I did a couple of days ago so hopefully the cold will vanish into thin air in no time.

For today's project I have something special to show you. One of my sweet bloggy friends said she liked my gift bags so I told her I'd make one for her. She's already received it so it's safe for me to post it here. :)

I knew she liked Christmas and vintage/shabby chic style so this is what I had in mind when I started making a bag for her.

Right from the start I knew I wanted to use one of my Christmas angels stamps from Stempelglede. Then I just had to pick the papers.

I decided to use a white cardstock with golden stars printed on it as well as some champagne shimmery paper from my stash.

I used some shabby white frantage and some Ranger's Queen's gold embossing powder around the image. I thought it gave it a nice vintage feel. Then I "framed" the image with stringed pearls. On the pearl string I glued some snowflake diecuts that I cut from a white cardstock and then covered them with diamond Sickles.

I also used a lot of lace. On the bottom of the widest lace I glued sequins which I then topped with pearls. I also used a piece of cheesecloth and a beautiful champagne ribbon from Crafty ribbons on my bag.

And here's also a front view of the bag.

So, this is it. That's my little gift bag. :) I loved decorating it, but I was a bit nerveous to send it to Pamellia, because I really admire her work and because she rocks vintage/shabby chic style. She makes the most beautiful shabby chic creations and has tons of wonderful ideas. You can see her work on her blog - trust me, it's well worth visiting, her creations will make your jaw drop!!! And not only she's super talented, she's also one veeeeery sweet lady. :)

Well, that's all from me for now. I wish you a wonderful Saturday evening and have a great Sunday. :)

Hugs! xx

1 project, 2 challenges

Hey hey! I'm back. Yup, 2 posts in a row - that's not something that happens often. lol But I have a good reason to be here. ;)

But first, let me tell you something ...Remember that I applied for a DT call at Sugar Nellie blog? Well, I got in!!! :D :D I was so happy when I heard the news! And today is my first challenge for them. :D

Actually, two challenges start today - a challenge at Sugar Nellie blog and a challenge at Crafty ribbons blog. The challenge at Sugar Nellie blog is "anything goes" and the challenge at Crafty ribbons blog is "anything goes with ribbons and buttons". I cheated a little and made one project for both challenges - shhhh, don't tell. ;)

Here's what I made ...

Yes, it's another gift bag. :) There are lots of birthdays coming up so I thought it wouldn't hurt to be prepared. ;) On my bag I used 2 different papers from Magnolia and a corrugated cardstock from my stash. The star and the flower die cuts are from Pink Paislee's Indigo bleu collection (Chat clouds). I like how sparkly they are because of all the glitters. :) I stamped the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock which I then cut out with my scissors and distressed with TH distress ink. I "decorated" the edges with Stickles. I raised the sentiment on foam pads. Ribbons and buttons came from Crafty ribbons store - I used orange zipper ribbon, love chocolate satin ribbon and buttons from latte button box.

See the cute little bunny that I used on my bag? It's a Sugar Nellie digi stamp that came free with any purchase made at the Sugar Nellie store during the Kit and clowder 4000 members party at Facebook. You can find this cutie here.

I love this fluffy little fella. :) I did the colouring with distress inks.

And here's the side view of the bag,

That's it. I hope you will come play with us. I would love to see what you'll make. :)
Hugs! xx

I'd like to enter my bag to the following challenges:

Creative inspirations: Autumn colours
Simon says: Anything goes
A creative romance: Anything goes
Divas by design: Pretty in glitter (the flowers and star die cuts I used are covered with glitters and I also used Stickles on the sentiment)

Purple Christmas

Hello everybody! :) How are you? I've been enjoying my week so far. Still, I'll be happy when weekend comes. ;) I just hope the weather will be nicer than it was last weekend. Last Saturday was really bad. Needless to say, that's the day me and my sweetie went to a culinary festival that was in a city a couple of hours drive from here. :S We still managed to taste different things, which was good, but unfortunately we couldn't go for a walk around the city. Oh well, lesson learned - sometimes you need to trust the weathermen.

On the happier note, I got the tickets for the Bryan Adams concert that's happening in December - my sweetie bought me these as an early b-day present. Isn't he the sweetest?! :D B. Adams is one of my all time favourite singers so I'm super excited about this concert. I wish I could rush the time so December would be here already. ;)

As for the crafting goes, I want to show you a Christmas card I made. This is my second post as a GDT for Digital delights so I am using their adorable image called Snowflake Shelly.

I like purple for Christmas and I like purple and gold colour combination, so I decided to use it on my card. All of the papers came from my stash. Gems and doily came from my stash as well. Ribbons, lace and the tiny bead trim (see under the lace) are from Crafty ribbons. See the Christmas baubles on the right corner? That's actually a stamp I bought when I was in England this summer. I got it at clearance for 0.50 gbp. Is this a bargain or what?! ;) I embossed it with Queen's gold embossing powder and then cut the baubles out with my scissors.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and Faber Castell pencils. I covered Shelly's wings and snowflakes with diamond Stickles and the white part of Shelly's cap was done with liquid applique. Dies that I used on this card are from Spellinders, Marianne design and Sizzix. The oval behind Shelly was embossed with Mpress Mystic clouds embossing folder. I heat embossed the edge of the oval as well.

I raised Shelly and die cut snowflakes on foam pads to give the card some dimension.

That's all from me today. Have a wonderful day!
Hugs! xx

Winter blues

Heya! I'm moving around like a robot today. Yesterday I did a lot of walking (it was a trip to the top of one hill and then back down) and today I feel like my legs will fall off. Can you tell I'm not really a sporty person? lol Luckily I am having a day off today and I can just relax and lay on the couch.

Anyways, I'm not here to talk about myself, I'm here to tell you about the new challenge that started today at the Inky Impressions challenge blog. This time our theme is "primary colours". I have to admit I was quite struggling with this one. I love blue and red, but I like to combine these colours with brown/kraft colour and I couldn't do this for this challenge. So I went for blue and white colour combination this time.

I used some Provo Craft papers that I've had in my stash for a looong time. The image is from Inky impressions and it's called Sammy making snow angels. He's a cutie, isn't he? I coloured it with Promarkers and Faber Castell pencils. On the snowflakes I also used diamond Stickles. All of the embellishments came from my stash. For the center of the bow and the big snowflake I actually used buttons.

Around the image I added some silver glitters. I also did some stitching on the card, bu I think I still need lots and lots of practice with that.

I hope you will come play with us.
Hugs! xx

I'd like to enter my card to the following challenges:

ABC challenges: T is for tic tac toe (doily, pearls or gems, dies/punches - both)

It's a girl! :)

Heya! How are you doing? I got to sleep a little bit longer today and it feels sooooo good! I'm still not used to getting up in the middle of the night (or so it feels), so I love those days that I can sleep in. :)

I'm expecting my brother really soon - he's coming for a coffee and chat - but before he shows up, I want to show you what I made recently.

A short while back a friend of mine asked me if I could make a baby gift bag for her, because one of her friends is expecting a baby girl. Of course I said yes. :) And here's the result ...

I had the perfect paper for this bag - a 12x12 sheet of paper from Sharon Ann's Baby girl collection. And I got to use one of my new Magnolia stamps - Delivery from heaven. I've been wanting to get my hands on this image for a while, but each time I checked it was sold out. So a friend of mine helped me get it. Thank you, thank you, thank you! :)

I used distress inks for coloring.

Since this was for a baby girl I used lots of lace, pearls and flowers. You know, those typical girly stuff. ;) They all came from my stash. And so did the charm.

For the bag handles I used sheer ribbon from Crafty ribbons.

I had a lot of fun making this bag and I hope that the lady for who this bag is made will like it.

I'd like to enter my card to the following challenges:
Delightful challenges: Don't be square
Papertake weekly: Repeat, repeat (repeated: oval die cuts, flowers, pearls)

Black and white coloring

Good morning! It's Friday. Yay! :D Just a little bit longer and we can relax and enjoy the weekend. :)

Today I have a card to show you. Yes, I made a card after all those paper bags. ;) Sugar Nellie is having a DT call and I thought and I'd give it a shot and apply.

Here's what I made.

I love Maja design papers, but unfortunately they are not available here. But I was lucky enough to receive some from my sweet friend (thank you so much girl!! xx) They were so pretty I even didn't want to use them at first - I know, I'm terrible. lol But when I decided I would make a card with the sweet Victoria image from Sugar Nellie I knew these papers would go perfectly with this image - to create a sweet, elegant and shabby chic card.

It's the first time I tried black and white coloring and I really like the look. This image is great for this technique (especially for newbies like myself lol), because there's already quite a lot of shading done; I just did a bit more with my black and grey Faber Castell pencils.

I used lots of different embellishments on this card. As I said, I was going for a romantic, shabby chic look, so I used lots of lace, doilies and flowers. They all came from my stash.

Well, that's it. I was really happy with how this card turned out. I hope you like it too! :)

Don't forget to apply for the Sugar Nellie DT if you like their images. :)

Big crafty hugs! xx

Frosty cupcake

Heya! I was listening to the radio yesterday and one of the things they mentioned was also that it was only 113 days til Christmas (112 today). How fast time flies, doesn't it? December will be here before we know it! I don't know about you, but I can't wait! I love Christmas and all the things connected with it. :) So it probably won't come as a surprise, that I've mostly been into doing Christmas crafts, right? ;)

A while ago I was asked to be a guest designer for Digital delights and of course I said yes. :)

They have adorable digi images in their store and I was able to choose one to work with. How very sweet of them, right? Thank you! :) I chose January cupcake set - I thought that snowman was veeery cute and who doesn't like a cupcake?! ;)

Once again I created a gift bag.

I didn't cover the bag with embellishments - I wanted the image to stand out. :) I coloured it with Promarkers and Faber Castell pencils and I added some glitters on the snowflakes and red dots on the cupcake. I also used some small crystals on the snowflakes and a bit bigger crystals at the left upper corner. I also used Marianne design and Sizzix die for the snowflakes. The ribbons I used are from Crafty ribbons

In case you didn't notice, there's a new release of Christmas ribbons at the Crafty ribbons store and let me tell you, they are gorgeous! See the white ribbon with Christmas tree I used on top of the red satin ribbon? That's one of the newly released ribbons and you can find it here. The red satin ribbon isn't originally that wide. I just added a piece of ribbon on top and another piece under the first piece and then put the white Christmas ribbon on top, to cover the edges of the both pieces (I hope you know what I mean).

Enjoy the rest of the week! Big crafty hugs to you! :) xx

I'd liek to enter my bag to the following challenges:

Back to school

Hey, hey! :) How was your weekend? Did you have a nice time? Mine was short, because I had to work yesterday and even today I had some papers to take care of. But I could do this at home. Then in the afternoon my brother and some of my friends came to visit and we were having a "pancake party". He he. :D It was lots of fun! :D

I don't know about your country, but in my country today was 1st day of school. And along with summer vacations, also the summer weather went away. I can feel the fall knocking on the door. I don't usually make back to school cards/projects (in fact, I don't think I've ever made any), but I did make one this year. And there's a pretty good reason for this as well. I became the member of Inky impressions DT (yay :D) and today their new release came out. It contains many great back to school digi stamps, which I couldn't wait to use. So I used 3 of them on my card. :) You can see the whole release in the store.

I kept my card very simple (unusual for me, I know lol). I used papers from Heidi Grace design and I decorated the card with some golden brads from my stash and ribbons from Crafty ribbons. I didn't have a small alphabet die, so I wrote some letters on the red cardstock and cut them out with my craft knife. I coloured the image with Promarkers and Faber castell pencils

Have a wonderful week!
Hugs! xx

I'd like to enter my card to the following challenges:
