Blog giveaways

I just entered 2 blog giveaways today - both for scrapbooking items. :D It's pretty hard to get scrapbooking stuff where I live so pretty much all the scrapbooking stuff that I have were sent to me by my sweet friends from around the world or I swapped for them. Today I was killing some time on the internet and I found out about those giveaways. And I thought: "Oh, I wanna try my luck too." Why not, right? Both blogs are also full of great craft ideas, so I think you really should check them out. :)

The first giveaway is held by Beth - click here to get to her blog. She made such a great giveaway package that I am sure every crafter would love to have. Thank you Beth for doing this! :) I have only been following her blog for a short while, but I really like it. I think her crafts are really amazing and she also posts weekly tutorials on her blog. Isn't that great?! You really should have a look at her blog if you haven't already.

The second giveaway can be found here. Aren't the items you can win just amazing? Just imagine all the things you could do with with those papers etc. I already have tons of ideas. lol

If you want to enter these giveaways too, great. But if not, just pay a visit to these blogs and maybe you'll find some ideas for your next craft project. :)

Happy holidays!

It's Christmas eve tonight. I hope you've all been good this year so that when you wake up tomorrow morning you'll find lots of presents under the Christmas tree. ;) Have a nice evening, surrounded with your loved ones. I wish you a merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. May the year 2011 be full of love, joy, happiness and little miracles. Leave yesterday's worries behind and focus on what's in front of you. As they say: "Give each day the chance to be the best day of your life." Happy holidays!

Cards again ;)

Here are some more Christmas cards that I made this year. I used different techniques and different materials. I fell in love with the cute little angels and made quite some cards with them (bellow you can see pictures of two of them). The pattern for this little angel I found on my friend's blog. She's very creative and she made different patterns that she uploaded to her blog so everybody who wants them can download them for free. The pattern for the angel I used for my cards can be found here, but feel free to look at her other entries too. Visit her blog by clicking here.

And here are the promised pictures of the cards I made (for larger view click on the picture) …

The two angel cards (the quality if one picture isn't the best, I'm sorry about that)
Cards with cookie recipes – I printed the recipe for cookies and placed it on the card. I decorated the cards with ginger men/candy cane and matching paper.
I had a couple sheets of Christmas paper and I cut out the pictures and made cards with them. Here are the results …
Let it shine … Here are two of the shiny/sparkly cards I made this year.
And some other cards.

Cards, cards, cards

It's almost December and with it Christmas and New Year. My favourite time of the year. :D I absolutely love Christmas lights, decorations, food (oh yum, yum), carols etc. I even like Christmas shopping. ;) So, I've made quite a few Christmas cards this year (and I'm definitely not done yet, I am planning to make many more). I've already posted pictures of some of them, but today I'm about to post a couple more ...

For this card I used dark green cardstock, light yellow paper, patterned green paper and a piece of patterned gold cardstock out of which I made a tree. The tree is glued to the green patterned paper with double sided 3D foam pads so that gives the card some sort of 3D look. Around the green patterned paper I added gold border stickers and around the bottom of the yellow paper I wrapped a green ribbon with gold stars.
For this card I used bright green cardstock, orange paper and patterned paper. I cut a square out of the orange paper that was slightly smaller than my card. On the edges I used gold border stickers. Out of an envelope I made a pocket, which I decorated with the patterned paper, orange paper and button. Once the pocket was finished, I glued it to the card. Inside I inserted the "recipe for the New Year", which I previously printed on a white sheet.
This card was made out of dark red cardstock and plain very light yellow piece of paper which was just a little bit smaller than my card. I cut a "window" in the yellow paper. On the top of the "window" I added eyelets. Through eyelets I put a gold decorative "rope" (the kind you can use for crafts) and which I previously attached gold and red stars. On the bottom of the yellow paper I glued a reindeer ribbon in matching colours.
As you can see, the next card is made out of different kinds (and colours) of paper. The card itself is made out of a bright green cardstock, but for this product I also used patterned red paper, dark green cardstock and patterned gold cardstock. In the center of the card I glued a picture of a teddy holding a present, which I cut from the wrapping paper. As you can see, I also used gold border stickers and gold holly shaped confetti.
For the next card I used light blue cardstock and different shades of blue paper (some patterned and some not). I also used shiny silver paper, on which I glued the tree I previously cut out of the white wavy cardboard. I decorated the tree with blue circle confetti. The left side of the card I decorated with different blue cardstock and silver snowflake stickers.
The other day I went to the store and saw this incredibly cute Santa stamp and just couldn't resist, I had to buy it. I stamped the image on the white piece of paper, which I cut with my Sizzix Big Shot die cut. I've only been having Sizzix for a short while, but I love it. I coloured the stamp and also the background. Then I inked the edges and glued the stamped paper on the red patterned paper. To the corners of the red paper I added gold star shaped eyelets. Then I glued the whole thing on the bright green cardstock.

I just wanted to share some of  the most recent things that I've created ... For larger view, click on the image. :)
Here you can see a red and white ring which is made of seed beads and glass leaf-shaped beads.

I also made this bracelet. It's made of different shaped pinkish glass beads and white seed beads.
And here's another bracelet that I made. This one is made of round shell beads, seed beads and creamy white round beads.
I also made two different necklaces. One comes in brown and gold tones and the other one comes in dark gray and white black tones.
Here's the once in brown and gold tones ...
And here's the one in dark gray and black tones ...
For the side part and the clasp I got idea here, but the middle part is my own creation. Here is the closer look on the middle part ...

Some of my newest creations

In the last couple of weeks I've been feeling pretty crafty. I've tried some new things and created quite a few things. Here are just some of the things I've made so far (as always, click on the image to see a larger picture) …

These earrings are made out of the beautiful shiny wax beads in two different sizes, seed beads and and glass beads. Because of their shape and shiny (but not too shiny) looks, these earrings are great for every occasion.

These earrings are small but sweet. They are made out of wire, glass beads, seed beads and slightly bigger wax beads which I used in the middle.

These flowery looking earrings are made of wire and two smaller beads

I also made one jewelry set (necklace + earrings + bracelet). For all the items in this set I used a variety of beads in white and pinkish colours.

Just a quick post

It's been a while since I wrote anything on here. This is partially because I'm a bit busy with work at the moment, but also because I'm a bit lazy when it comes to uploading pictures to computer and editing them. *blush* But anyways, here I am again with 2 new things that I made just last weekend.

Black and silver necklace
I've created this necklace using nylon wire and black and silver beads of different shapes. I made it for a friend of mine.

Black and silver bracelet
I wanted to make a bracelet that would go together with that necklace above and I came out with this. I used the same seed beads as I used with the necklace, plus some round silver beads.

Christmas in the middle of August

Nah, not really. ;) However, it would feel like it if you saw my working table - it's covered with Christmas themed papers, stickers ... You should know one thing - Christmas is my favourite holiday. All that yummy food, decorations, snow (hopefully) ... Love it! I have been making my own Christmas cards for a while now, but I always started making them pretty late and then I was always in a hurry. But not this year. Oh, no. This year I've decided to start early. So far I've only made 5, but since I'm not in a hurry at all I'm taking my time for each card, lots of time if I may add. ;)
Anyways, here are the cards I've made so far:

For this card I used a dark green card stock, on which I first glued Christmas themed "orangish" paper. That I covered with light green paper. On the left side I put yellow ribbon bow and on the right side I glued a piece of creamy white paper on which I stamped a Christmas tree and coloured it.

For this card I used red card stock. On a plain white sheet or paper I stamped a lot of images of holly and then cut out the right size to fit on my card. Then I cut another sheet of white paper which was just a bit smaller than the one I stamped. I inked the edges on that one. From the red card stock I cut a circle, inked it and placed it to the center of my card. Then I cut a smaller circle from the white card stock, inked that one as well, and stamped the image of Santa in the middle. With pop-up foam I glued it to the red circle. With a puncher I made small snowflakes, which I glued to the card. In the center of each snowflake I placed a small round crystal. I added ribbon and voila. :)

This card is really simple to make. I used dark blue card stock, on which I glued patterned light blue paper. On the left side I glued a smaller piece of dark blue paper and decorated it with a light blue see-through ribbon bow. With pop-up foam I glued the penguin and merry Christmas sign to the card.

This one is my favourite. I just love light blue colour and in combination with brown looks just awesome. In my opinion anyways. ;) What I did was, that I glued a piece of patterned brown paper to the light blue card stock. On the left side and on the bottom I glued white ribbon on which I glued blue bow. On a smaller piece of light blue paper I placed a piece of "handmade" creamy white paper (looks handmade, but I bought it) on which I placed a wooden painted star. To each corner of light blue card stock I added a big golden brad. I inked the edges too. :)

On dark red card stock I glued a piece of golden paper. In the middle of the golden paper I glued a small piece of red paper which I decorated with golden thread. I made a bow using dark red ribbon and gold thread. On the left side I glued shiny white plastic stars.

I haven't done almost anything crafty for the whole month. Wow, that's new! But to my "defense", summer is here, which to me means summer holidays, lazy days, reading ... Now I decided that it's time for me to start doing some crafty things again. Today I made this memo pad for a friend of mine ...

This is the front page. On the yellow part I'll also write the name of the person for who I made this pad.

And this is the inside of the pad. I used the post-it memo pad and just glued it to the card stock I previously measured and cut to the right side with double sided sticky tape.

Human cruelty

Yesterday I came around this site: http://thecovemovie.com/ You really should have a look at it. It's about human cruelty against animals, well, against dolphins to be exact. All around the world animals are dying (and not just dolphins, but all animals) - often because of us, humans. We should stop being so egoistic, stop acting as if we were the center of the universe and as if nothing else mattered but us. We should start caring about the planet Earth and animals more. The very least one can do is to spread the word. It doesn't cost a penny and it doesn't take much time. So please, if nothing else, please take a look at this video and help in any way you can, even if it is "just" by spreading the word.

About my new job

On Tuesday I started a new job - I work at primary school. My job is to help children who have learning difficulties. I help them with their homework, explain them things they don't understand etc. I also go on school trips with them. I really like my job; it's never boring and it's challenging, but it's also pretty demanding and tiring. This week I often worked til late evenings to get ready for the next day's lessons and/or to prepare exercises for the next day. Still, I'm really happy with this job. I met some new people and most of all, it keeps me occupied and it gives me the feeling that I'm doing something good, which is great. :)

Time for something new

So far I've only been showing you my jewellery projects. But making jewellery is not the only thing I like to do. Another think that I absolutely love is scrapbooking. I haven't done all that many things yet, but I am sure planning to make more. ;) The other day I made this cute little album. I made the whole thing myself (yay for me :P). On each page there's a different quote about dreams/dreaming. Quotes are written in Slovenian language (I translated them).

A few words about music

I love music. I like to listen to it all the time, except when I'm reading or studying. But any other time, I say a big YES to music. Especially if it's rock or pop. Those are my favourite genres. But you could serve me pretty much everything. I'm not THAT picky. The only genres I really can't listen to (at least not more than a minute or two) are rave (it gives me headache) and jazz (it's just too depressing). But as said, my favourite is rock music (and pop). But metal, country ... is great too. ;)

Every once in a while I have this one song that I just can't get it out of my head and I want to listen to it all the time. Right now that's Michael Buble's "Everything". With such beautiful lyrics this song is perfect for daydreaming (something I really like to do :P). If you don't know it, you really should listen to it (and while you're at it, I suggest you check out his other songs too ;)). Here's the video:

After one month ...

Oh my, I just realized it's been exactly one month since I wrote anything. Yikes! I should try to post more regularly. :$ Well, at least I'm not sick anymore. lol And there's another good thing that happened ... I got a job!!! :D I'm starting at the beginning of May (yup, just a couple of days to go ;P) and I'm already so excited! Can't wait! I'll be working in school; I'll be helping children with their homework, help those who have problems at specific subjects etc. I'll get more info on Monday.

A short while ago I was invited to someone's 50th birthday party. I knew what I was going to wear, but I didn't have any jewelry (except earrings) that would go with my outfit. So it was time to finally get all those boxes with beads out again and make something. And here's what I made ...

a ring
a necklace
I know this necklace looks very simple (and it actually is lol), but it was perfect for that outfit. I was wearing a very dark brown top and this necklace brought some life into it because of the colour of the beads. This was exactly the "effect" I was going for so I'm pleased with the result. :)

I just HATE being sick. My throat has been hurting me for a couple of days now and now that I thought everything will finally be ok, I realize it's even worse. I woke up today and realize I can't speak. I have no voice at all. The only thing I can get out of my mouth is agharhterdahdsta - something that doesn't make any sense at all. I do not like this at all. So I've been just whispering today. I really hope it will be better tomorrow. I've been drinking tea all day long today so it should help at least a little bit, right?!?

I bought this cute ice-cream for Easter yesterday. It's in a shape of bunny and it's just so adorable! And also delicious. ;) I'm not a big fan of ice-cream in general, but this one is mmmmm-mmm. Look at the bunny, isn't it just "awww"?

Other than that, I started writing tutorials for making jewelry. My boyfriend challenged me - he told me I should write a book about jewelry making. There's not such book in my language yet and not everybody here understands/speaks English, so it's actually a very good idea. I don't know if what I'm writing now will actually turn into a book, but who knows. As I said, I think it's a really good idea. What can I say, I have a very smart (and incredibly sweet) boyfriend. <3

I'm back :)

It's been a while since I posted anything here again. I was planning to do this sooner, but just didn't get around to actually do it. I kept postponing it and we all know how time flies by. I was also away for a couple of days - I went to the spa with my grandmas and my mum. We had a nice time, but I have to admit it was a bit tiring. I was quite happy when the weekend was over and I got back home to my sweetie. :)

Here are some of the things that I made in the last weeks. I'm really into white and since summer is coming, I wanted to make something that I can wear with my summer dresses and tops. (Click on the pictures for larger view)

This necklace was inspired by a necklace I saw on this site. I absolutely love the layered look and I think it is perfect for any occasion - with jeans with a nice white top or with a dress.

Of course I just "had to" make a matching bracelet and a matching ring too - I like to have the full set of something. :)

And as for the earring goes, I think those white chandelier earrings I made in January will go perfect with this set.

Not so long ago I also finished these earrings. They are pretty easy to make and I think they have this "elegant look".
