Special gift for a friend

Heya! How are you doing? Me, I've been having fun trying out some new things - with papers, but also other kinds of crafts and I've been experimenting in the kitchen as well. I'm keeping myself busy. ;) What other things do you like to do besides papercrafting?

A short while ago a friend of ours celebrated his birthday and I had to come up with an idea fo a gift. What do you give a man who has everything for his birthday? I was scratching my head for a little bit and then it hit me ... A trip to nostalgia! I made a plan to create a basket and fill it with some of the products that were introduced the same year our friend was born - in this case that was 1982. I was also toying with the idea of creating a sort of special basket. Browsing the pinterest for ideas, I decided to make a balloon basket. So I gathered the supplies and went to work. I had to go out and buy a balloon, but everything else I needed to make this basket (a cardboard box, scissors, decorative paper, paper straws and bbq sticks) I'd already had at home.

With the help of google I made a list of the things I wanted to put in the basket. I decided to buy the following things:
  • Vienetta ice cream
  • Ferrero Rocher (I know that one was actually introduced in 1979, but that was just in Italy, it wasn't until 1982 that it was introduced in other parts of Europe as well, so I decided that counts too :P)
  • Ritter Sport mini chocolates
  • caffeine free pepsi
  • diet coke
  • S. King's "The running man"
Once the gift basket was complete it looked like this.

There is definitely room for improvement, but at the end of the day I was happy with how it turned out and the birthday boy liked it as well, so I think that's all that matters. I had lots of fun putting this "trip to nostalgia basket" together so I will definitely make more of them.

I'm sorry about the bad photos, but the weather was terrible when I took them.

Have a lovely day!

Flowers for your birthday

Hello everybody! How are you doing? I'm ok, just tired. I was sick last week and even though I am fine now I still don't have a lot of energy. But I'm hoping I'll be back to my old self soon.

Today I have a bright and happy card to share with you...

I decided to keep the design pretty simple to make the image stand out more. This adorable girl is an older LOTV stamp. I coloured the image with my polychromos. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted. I have quite some washi tape in my stash, but for some reason I barely use it. However, I used some on this card - to create the striped background. It's really quick and easy and I like the effect so I am sure I will use this "technique" again in the future. Do you like to use washi tape on your creations? Do you use it often? I didn't use a lot of embellishments on this card, just a couple of crystals.

So much from me today. Have a wonderful day. xx

I'd like to enter my card to the following challenges:

I used one of the old(er) images from hAnglar which I coloured with pencils. The sentiment is from Mama elephant. The papers came from my stash and so did the bigger flowers. The smaller ones are  from I am roses. I also used some lace, pearls and crystals to decorate my card.

Shabby chic birthday card

Hello there! How are you doing? Things are sloooooowly starting to go to the "new normal" here; things are about to reopen etc. But there are still many safety measures in place.

I made this card for my grandma's birthday. I was thinking hard which stamp to use on the card, but atthe end I decide to make a shabby chic card without the cute images. And this is the result.

The gorgeous papers I used for this card are from Lemoncraft. Between most of the layers I used a doubble sided sticky foam to create a bit of a 3D look and give the card a bit more dimension.

I distressed the edges of the papers and used some white gesso here and there. Between the layers I "tucked" a white paper doily.  I fussy cut the flowers from one of the sheets that came with the paper pad and layered them using the double sided adhesive foam. I printed the sentiment (it's in Slovenian and it means "happy birthday") and added it on the card. To complete the look I was going for I stamped some butterflies on the watercolour paper, coloured them with TH distress inks, fussy cut them and then glued them on the card. I finished the card by embellishing it with some lace and pearls.

Have a beautiful day! xx

Happy birthday

Hi everybody! How are you? I've been busy baking in the last couple of days, but now I will be able to rest a bit.

We are already half-way throught the current challenge at The sketchy challenges blog. This month we want to see your creations based on this sketch.

Here's the card I made...

I made the stripes with golden glittery washi tape and then I just added a layer of beautiful DCWV patterned paper. I've had the big flower in my stash for quite a while and I thought it would look well on the card. To decorate the card I also used some golden stamens and white berries.

I hope you will come play with us.
Have a beautiful day! xx

Dragon wishes coming your way

Hello everybody! I'm here today to show you a card I made for the challenge reminder at The sketchy challenges blog. This month we want you to create something based on this sketch.

I made a card for my mom's birthday.

I know my moms likes these cute dragons from CC Designs so I decided to use them on my card. :) I coloured the dragons with polychromos.

These dragons reminded me of the new (last!) season of Game of thrones that is about to come out. Are you going to watch it. Are you a GOT fan? I haven't read the books, but I did watch the series. It's my husband who is a fan and I actually started watching the series because of him. I got sucked right in and now I can't wait for the last season; I'm curious what the ending will be. lol

Sentiment is from Whimsy stamps. The papers I used are from My mimd's eye. I didn't use any embellishments on this card (shocking, I know lol), but I did use different dies to make card more "fun".

I hope you will come play with us. Click here to go directly to the challenge post. :)

Have a great day! xx

Darilna embalaža/Gift card holder (tutorial)

Lep pozdrav vsem skupaj!

Hello everybody! Today I made a tutorial on how to make a gift card holder that also holds a small hidden surprise. It's made of a small "sandwich paper bag". i hope the pictures explain it well, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask. :)

Pa začnimo ...

Potrebovali boste naslednje stvari:
- natron vrečko
- dekorativni papir (jaz sem uporabila tega in tega)
- štampiljko (jaz sem uporabila Mama Elephant - Over the rainbow)
- trak (jaz sem uporabila bel organza trak širine 1 cm)
- robni luknjač (jaz sem uporabila tega)
- Spellbinders šablone
- luknjač z motivom metuljčka
- rožice
- perle
- kristalčke
- gesso (bel)

Če vrečko razgrnete, dobite to ...

Potrebovali boste štiri kartončke v velikosti 9.5x7.5 cm in en kartonček v velikosti 7.5x4.5 cm (v primeru, da boste uporabili vrečko drugih dimenzij, prilagodite velikost "strani").

Jaz sem za naslovnico izbrala štampiljko Mama Elephant in romantičen papir proizvajalca Craft and you.

Tako, to je to za danes. Upam, da vam je vodič všeč. Želim vam čim lepši dan! :)

Frame it

Hello there! How are you doing? We got LOTS of new snow over the last couple of days so I am very happy I have the chance to stay in where it's warm. I really don't have any desire to go out into that cold. And what's worse is that the weathermen are saying the next week will be even worse - more snow and even colder. Pffff... Not something I'm looking forward to. But on the other hand, this is a perfect excuse to stay in and do some crafting. ;)

Earlier this month my sweet little baby girl was celebrating her second birthday and to add to the celebration I made a couple of heart earrings and I'm giving two people the chance to win a pair in their desired colour. This is what the earrings look like (sorry for the bad photo)...

If you want a pair, all you need to do is to comment on my Instagram photo here or on the photo on my Facebook with the colour you'd like. Blog comments do NOT count. You have til Sunday 9 am (my time) to leave your comment.

We are having family over for celebration tomorrow and we're also having a cake then. We are having a panda themed party, because pandas are "big hit" with my lil one at the moment. :)

Anyways, enough about that. I need to tell you about the new challenge that just started at The Sketchy Challenges blog. This time we would like you to use a frame of some sort on your creations. Here's my card - a birthday one. ;)

To make this card I used leftover pieces of paper from Prima's Romance novel paper pad. I just love this pad, so I couldn't part with those small strips of paper. I usually don't save them, but I did with this paper. And I'm really happy I did. :) I got inspiration for this type of project at Natascha's blog, because she often uses scraps of paper on her cards.

To decorate the card I used some gorgeous flowers, pearls and crystals. Image is from Whiff of joy and I coloured it with pencils.

So much from me today. I hope you will come play with us! :)

I'd like to enter my card to the following challenges:
Deep ocean: Cute and cuddly
Let's craft and create: Anything goes
Cute card Thursday: Cute critters
Allsorts: I spy with my little eye, something beginning with B (butterflies, black, birthday cake)
