Starting early

I always end up doing Christmas and New Years cards at the last minute. Last year I was off to a good start, but unfortunately it didn't go on like this through whole year so again I was in a rush when December came. So this year I REALLY want to do my best to have a pile of Christmas and New Year cards ready in time. This was my New Year's resolution (along with "eat less chocolate"). Hopefully I can make it.

Here's my first New Year's card I made in 2012.

I used the cute Lily of the valley angel stamp and for the first time ever I did some paper piecing - I paper pieced the dress. I love the result and I really don't get it why it took me so long to try paper piecing. I'll definitely do it again! I colored the rest of the image with Promarkers, Faber Castell pencils and TH Shabby shutters distress ink. On the wreath I also used Viva decor pearl pen and on the wings I used diamond Stickles. The star paper is from Folia and the brads and snowflake confetti are from my stash. The ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons (from their Pink Kitty pack that is now for sale and you can get it for only £1).

I'd like to enter this card to the following challenges:
Sweet stamps: Winter
Lili's little fairies: New beginnings
Crop Stop: Go for the gold
Simon says: New something (new stamp, new technique)

Well, that's it for today. I hope you had a nice weekend and I wish you a great week ahead! Hugs!
