A card for a friend

Hello everybody! How are you doing? Did you have a nice weekend? Mine was lovely. Friday was a holiday here and it's sort of a tradition for us to have a picninc on 1 May. This year I was in charge of bringing deserts so I spent the whole morning baking. Luckily it all turned out as planned. On Saturday I had a lazy day at home. I did some crafting, watched some shows on DVDs and checked some possible destinations for summer vacations. No final decisions have been made yet, we were just checking the offers. Have you got any plans for summer vacations yet?

Let's talk some crafty things now ... Are you familiar with Kit & clowder? They are having those amazing colouring classes and their group on Facebook is so much fun! Everyone is very supportive, offer advice, there are lots of fun stuf going there ... One of thing that was planned was a card swap and the theme of the swap was "friendship". Everybody who took part in the swap were asigned a partner for whom they had to make a friendship card and then send it to them. My swap partner was a super talented Linda. I absolutely LOVE her work and I think her cards are aways top notch so I was very excited to have her as my swap partner, but also a bit nervous, because I reeeeally wanted to make a nice card for her. I was thinking about what image to use and at the end I decided to use the adorable Rose and Felix stamp from Whimsy stamps.

The image was coloured with Promarkers and Faber Castell pencils.

And here's the view of the whole card.

As you can see I used a lot of different die-cuts on my card. The papers are from Authentique paper pad and the embellishments came from my stash. The sentiment is from Whimsy stamps Sew special set.

So much from me today. Have a wonderful week!
Hugs! xx

  3. Friday was a work day here but we have had today off and it's been lovely. I'm very much looking forward to a few days away at the end of May, I'm visiting Guernsey with my friend Emily (my honey has just started a new job so he can't take holiday at this time, but I really need a few days away!) and then on to my parent's for my Dad's 85th birthday. I was so pleased to get you as my partner for the swap, as the theme was friendship and it was nice to make a card for someone I was actually friends with, even if it's only via blogs and the internet. I was so happy to receive this beautiful card which is a perfect showcase of your wonderful style and I shall treasure it and put it on display in my craft area. Thank you also for the wonderful goodies you sent with it, I have already put some of them to good use ;) Yours was sent on Saturday morning, so it should hopefully arrive in a few days time, so exciting, I do hope you like it! :) xx

    1. I'm sure you will have a lovely time at Guernsey with your friend. Too bad your sweety can't go with you at that time, but that's just an excuse to take some more days off another time. ;)
Happy (early) birthday to your dad.
I was very happy to get you as my partner too. I agree with you - it's nice to make a card for someone you actually know and are friends with. Especially a friendship card. I know we've only known each other via internet, but I still think of you as my friend.
I'm really happy you like the card I sent you. I was hoping you would! And you're welcome for those crafty goodies. It's not much, but I wanted to add a wee bit something to the card. I'm glad you can use them - can't wait to see how! ;)
Oooh, can't wait to get yor card. Will be stalking the postman. He he. I'm sure I will like it - I honestly haven't seen any of your cards I wouldn't like. I'm 100% sure this one won't be the first! ;)
