Christmas with reindeers

Hello everybody! How are you? I hope you've been enjoying the holidays so far. Did Santa left anything nice for you under the Christmas tree? Obviously I was on the nice list this year, because I was really spoiled. :) Did you get any snow for Christmas? I was hoping we would have white Christmas this year, but we didn't. I bet we'll be getting lots and lots of snow in January, when no one wants it. *sigh* My little girl got sleighs for Christmas and today we went to the place near by with artificial snow to test them. At first she was a bit scared, but after a couple of rides she was smiling ear to ear and didn't want to go home. lol

Ok, enough chit chat. There are still a couple of Christmas cards I made this year that I would like to share with you. Today I want to show you this one...

I was very pleased with how this one turned out. In fact, I think it turned out better than I expected it to to be honest. I used some non-christmassy papers from Prima and lots of die cuts that I received from my friends. For the center of my card I used the beautiful Christmas tree rubber stamp which I embossed with Ranger's gold embossing powder. Around the image I sprinkled some frantage. Love that thing! I embellished the card with some lace.

Layers are raised on foam pads, which give the card some dimension.

I hope you like my today's card. Have a wonderful holiday season and all the best in 2018! xx

Fun in the snow

Hi there! :) How are you doing? Do you have any snow where you live? We don't have any here anymore, but I hope we will get some for Christmas. *fingers crossed* The big day is just around the corner. Yay! :D Are you looking forward to it? Have you bought all the Christmas presents yet or are you doing some very last minute shopping this year? I have them all, I just need to wrap them up and put them under the Christmas tree. :)

So, today I want to share with you another Christms card I made.

This snowman always brings a smile to my face. Isn't it adorable with that little chick on top?! Love it! I did the colouring with pencils. The small silver snowflakes around the image are stickers that I had in my stash. Papers are from DCWV. The big white snowflakes are covered with glitters and are really sparkly in person. I hope you can see this in the photo below.

In the center of two big snowflakes I added small silver snowflake sequins and pearl and in the center of the third one I glued a wooden snowman that I had in my stash. I also used some lace and smaller pearls to embellish the card.

So much from me today. Have a wonderful holiday season! xx

Here's my card...

For a change I didn't do any colouring. Instead I used this vintage printed image from Pion. Isn't it pretty? I used different papers from my stash and I embellished the card with some flowers, pearls, pearl string and crochet heart.

I hope you'll come play with us. Have a beautiful day!

Magnolia-licious blog hop

Welcome to our BLOG HOP!!

We decided to have a surprise Blog Hop over at Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog and there is a great prize involved, which is Pop Up Box #2, from Farm to Market. This box is full of various stamps, dies and laces. The theme is from Farm to Market from Magnolia Sweden.

To have a chance to win this amazing prize you need to do the following ...

You will need to go to each person to get details of their makes, and collect the 1 red letter on each blog as well as leave a comment. When you have finished looking at them all, Maya is the last stop, collect her 1 red letter and figure out what Christmas word we have scrambled and comment the answer on Maya's post (that's ME).

Here is the list of people participating in the hop:

Maya Go - you are here

For the hop I created this mini loaded envelope.

I decorated the envelope with some papers and embellishments from my stash.  Once the envelope was finished I filled it with some crafty goodies, tags and some yummy hot chocolate. :D The Christmas ornaments image is from Magnolia and I coloured it with distress inks. It's an old image, so unfortunately Shawn doesn't have it in the store anymore, but there are many other gorgeous Christmas images from Magnolia available in the store, including the new Christmas party collection 2017. :)

The tags I put in the pocket are made with Doohickey die. You can find a large selection of doohickey dies in Magnolia-licious store.

And here's my envelope "unloaded".

The sentiments on the tags are old Stampin' up rub-ons.

And just another side view. ;)

You should have come here from Rene's blog. If you are just starting the hop, you are at the last stop, so you better check out all the other posts if you fancy winning a wonderfuprize from Magnolia-licious.

Remember, to be in for the win of the blog hop, you must leave a comment on each person’s blog, and guess the correct word on THIS post.

You have til midnight on Sunday, 17 December, to complete the hop. And you can check back on the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog to see who the winner is on Monday, 18 December.

Good Luck to everyone and have fun!!
Merry Christmas,
Love from,
Ivy, Kerri, Karen, Rosette, Rene, Maya, Shawn, and Kim

P. S. Comment moderation is ON, so if you don't see your comment don't worry. I see it. ;) I will publish all the comments before the hop ends.

Angels we have heard on high

Hello everybody! How are you? Are you ready for Christmas? I thought I was, but I figured out I am not quite ready just yet... I have already bought most of my presents, but I am still missing a few bits of this and that. I was going to get them over the weekend, because we were planning to do some Christmas shopping, but then it was raining heavily, so we stayed at home. Maybe we'll go next week - we'll see.

I'm back with another card for Magnolia-licious. If you haven't yet, do join our challenge here. You can win amazing prize. ;)

Again I used the super cute Flying angel Tilda stamp - I just couldn't resist. lol

For this card I used some pretty papers from Kaisercraft and different laces, pearl string and crystals from my stash as embellishments.

I coloured Tilda with distress inks (pads).

Flowers (poinsettias) were made with Foamiran. This was the first time I used it and I love it! I can see my new addiction. lol I did fail the first couple of times, but at the end I did get the result I wanted and I am really happy with how my poinsettias look like. :) Besides all the cute Magnolia products you can also get Foamiran at Magnolia-licious store. Do check it out!

So much from me today. You might want to take a peek at this blog again on Friday. Just saying... ;)

Have a great day! xx

Fun with penguins

Hey there! I'm back with another Christmas card.

Once again I kept the design of my card pretty simple. This time I played with adorable penguin stamps from The greeting farm. For the background I used white cardstock on which I stamped some snowlakes from the same set as those penguins and embossed them with gold embossing powder. The sentiment is a TGF stamp as well. I finished the card with a couple of sequins and tiny pearls.

Have a wonderful day! xx

Winter angel

Hey hey! I told you I'd be back soon. ;) I'm so excited to share with you my news... I'm now part of Magnolia-licious design team. Woohoo! I was SO happy when I got the news. Happy, happy, happy! :D Shawn has LOTS of Magnolia goodies in the store, but that's not all, they are also selling Maja design papers (you know how much I love these), Foamiran and other awesome things so it's definitely worth checking the store out.

Today is my first card I made as part of this design team. I made it for the challenge that just started at Manolia-licious blog. I hope you will come play with us!

I used one of the older Magnolia stamps. This Flying angel Tilda was one of my first Magnolia stamps and it's still one of  my favourites, escpecially for making Christmas card.

I used gorgeous papers from Maja design that are for sale in Magnolia-licious store and some red "ribbed cardstock" (I'm not sure that's the right name) for the stars. I decorated the card with some lace and homemade enamel dots.

I coloured the image with distress inks.

And here's the side view of my card.

I hope you will come play with us and do check Magnolia-licious store for some great deals. :)

Have a wonderful day! xx

Show some bling

Heya! Woohoo, it's December. Finally! Let the fun begin! He he. Have you decorated your place and bought all the presents yet? If it was up to me I'd have all the decorations up on December 1, but not everybody is crazy about this idea, so we're decorating our house next weekend. As for the Christmas gifts goes, I have already bought most of them. I just need a few bits and will probably get those next Saturday. And then it's wrapping time. Yay! :D

So, in the spirit od the sparkliest month of the year we have a "Show some bling" challenge for you over The Sketchy Challenges blog. You can use glitters, crystals... Super easy challenge, right? So come on, come play with us.

I made another CAS card for this challenge.

Again I used one of the adorable elves from MFT and another sentiment stamp from Hobby Lobby. I did the colouring with pencils and Promarkers.

On the white part of the hat I used some liquid applique. I covered the sentiment with diamond Stickles.

Snowflakes were made with my craft punch and I glued a small crystal in the center of every one of them.

I hope you'll come play with us. Talk to you really soon (with some news!!!). :) Have a wonderful day! xx

The magic of Christmas

Hello there! Wow, can you believe we are already in the middle of November? Just a bit over a month and Christmas will be here. I'm so excited! This year I'm actually on top of things with Christmas cards and presents - I can't believe it! lol I still need to make a few more cards (2 or 3) and there are still bits of this and that that I need to buy, but most of the things are already bought or at least ordered. Are you ready for Christmas to come?

Today I want to share another Christmas card I made.

I just love these cute elves from MFT and I think they are just perfect for CAS cards. I did the colouring with pencils and Promarkers and I added some liquid applique on the white parts of the hat.

I really like the sentiment on this card; it is a Hobby Lobby stamp. I embossed it with gold embossing powder.

Happy holidays

Hello there! How are you doing? Did you have a nice Halloween? Did you do anything special on the scariest night of the year? We don't really celebrate Halloween here so it was just an ordinary day for us.

Now that the spooky holiday is behind us we can concentrate on Christmas. Yay! :D Have you done any Christmas shopping yet? I have already bought some presents, but not all. And for a change I am also on track with my Christmas cards this year - score! I'm about to show you the most recent one I made. This forthnight we have a sletch challenge at The sketchy challenges and the ard I am going to show you was made as inspiration for this challenge.

As you can see I decided to make another card in non-traditional colours. The papers I used are from Lawn Fawn and I really like them. The adorable snowman is a Stamping Bella stamp. I did the colouring with pencils. I embellished the card with some lace, crystals, sequins and "happy holidays" metal charm.

I hope you will come play with us. Have a wonderful day!

A box of sunshine

Hello my sweet friends! How are you? We had a lovely (lazy) weekend as family. We went out for walks, did some cooking at home, watched some telly, played some games... Perfect! Hope your weekend was nice as well!

Have you ever heard of "box of sunshine"? I came to this term a while back when I was browsing the internet. Basically it means that you take a box and fill it with lots of yellow things and send/give it to your friend/relative/penpal... I loved that idea so when one of my friends wasn't feeling well I just knew that I wanted to send one of those boxes to her. :) I tried to get many different yellow things that I thought she would like. Here's what I bought.

I also bought her 2 wooden Gorjuss postcards (she collects postcards), but forgot to add them to the pile when I took the picture.

Of course I also had to make a card to send it with the parcel.

I sticked with the sunshine theme and made this CAS card. I didn't use any design paper, just yellow and white cardstock. White cardstock was embossed with Cuttlebug's embossing folder. I used googly eyes on the sun and drew the mouth by hand. Sentiment is a TGF stamp (Mini remix- Happy). I embellished the card with a few sequins.

So much from me today. have a sunny day! :) xx

Haunted house

Hello there! Can you believe October is already here?! Eeeek! Time's flying by with the speed of light. Do you celebrate Halloween? We sometimes get together with some friends for a chat and friendly dinner and usually we carve a pumpkin, but that's pretty much it. We don't dress up in costumes, we don't go to Halloween parties etc. Halloween just isn't very big here. I normally don't do any Halloween crafts either - simply because I have no use of them. So the new (Halloween) challenge at The Sketchy Challenges got me scratching my head. I wasn't sure what to do. At the end I decided to make a Halloween decoration for the table. my hubby likes spooky things and was excited that once for a change we would also have a Halloween decoration on the table. ;) I got inspiration and idea for my project on Pamellia's blog (here), though you have to know that my project is FAR simpler and less detailed than hers - in my opinion hers is a masterpiece.

I knew I wanted a "crooked" house, but I am terrible at making "special" templates. I just can't get the numbers right. *sigh* So I asked my dad to make one; he knows how to do these stuff. ;) I asked him to make something simple, not too big, but has to be crooked. So, once he made me a model from the cardstock, I went crazy with paints, stencils etc. and made this...

I only used one die - for the fence, everything else (including windows, door etc. was hand drawn and cut the old fashioned way - with scissors. The whole project took me quite a long time to make, because I only had short periods of free time in my hands, but I did it (with a little bit of help of my hubby). Originally I wanted to include a couple of pumpkins as well, but I just couldn't find any that would be the right size in the stores here. If I find any before Halloween I can always add them.

Here are some more photos of the house - those were taken at daylight, only to show you the details, textures etc.

I used stencils and homemade textore paste for the bricks on the house and hor the "tiles" on the floor. Floor was first painted with acrylic paint, then sprayed with Shimmers and at the end inked with black ink pad. House was painted with acrylic paint and later inked with VersaColor black ink pad. I made the tiles for the roof with gesso, shimmers spray and crackled accents. At the end I also inked them with black ink pad. Door was embossed and inked with black ink pad. For the porch columns I used black straws.

The roof of the house can be opened so I can put in the lights.

And that's pretty much it. If you have any question feel free to ask. I can't wait to see your Halloween projects!

Have a wonderful day! xx

Shaker card

Hey hey! Phew, two cards in one week. I'm getting better at this bloging thing again. ;) I participated in a card swap and the card I'm about to show you was made for my swap partner. I was inspired by the sketch that is a new challenge at The Sketchy Challenges. I hope you will come play with us!

I don't know about you, but I really like shaker cards, even though I don't make them very often. I cut the base for this card with CC designs scalloped rectangle die. Then I cut a smaller scalloped rectangle die and made a "window" with the rectangle die. Before I glued (with foam pads) the smaller rectangle die on my card I took a piece of white cardstock, stamped on it with Stampabilities Faded tect background stamp and glued that on the base of my card. Then I just added some green, gold, white and silver sequins from my stash and placed the previously made "window" die cut on top of my stamped background. Over that I just glued a piece of white cardstock and I put a green bow to the center of it. That's it, easy peasy. :)

I can't wait to see how your projects will turn out, so come play with us. :)

Have a beautiful day! xx

Just another Christmas card

Hey, hey! Today was a BIG day. It was my little girl's first day of daycare. I have to admit I was *terrified* of this day. I mean REALLY terrified! I didn't know how Amadeja will react to all the other children, the teachers etc. Everything was new to her! Well, at first there was some crying, and for the first 10 minutes or so she was scared to go more than 1 meter away from me, but soon she started exploring the new toys and started playing with her new classmates. Today we only stayed there for about 90 minutes and probably will be more or less the same on Monday, but on Tuesday I will probably leave her alone for a short period of time and then the same on Wednesday... I know it'll be hard for both of us, but from what I saw today I am confident that she'll enjoy her time in dayscare.

Now that I got that off my chest let me show you the most recent card I made. It's another Christmas card - I still have plenty of those to make!

Once again I used one of the adorable Whimsy stamps digi images. I did the colouring with pencils and Promarkers and I added some liquid applique on the white parts of the penguin's dress.

Papers that I used are from DoCrafts and Scrapworks. I only used some lace and gold crystals to embellish the card.

Die cuts used are from Joy crafts (rectangle frame), La La Land (banner), Nellie's (stars), Marianne design (doily) and Cottage Cutz (border lace). Image and frame were raised on foam pads to give the card some dimension.

So much from me today. See you again soon. :) Bye, bye! xx

Happy snowman

Hey, hey! How was your summer? Did you have a nice time? Did you travel anywhere? Are you ready for fall? Here the temperatures dropped, so I can feel autumn is already knocking on the door. And before we know it December will be here too, so I thought I better start working on my Christmas cards. Here's the latest one I made.

I decided to use the cute snowman digi stamp from Whimsy stamps. Colouring was done with pencils and at the end I covered the snowman with Wink of Stella, so in person he's really sparkly, but unfortunately you can't see this in the photos. Papers and embellishments are from my stash. I added layers on top of each other with foam pads, which gave the card some dimension.

I made this card for the Whimsy stamps DT call and even made step by step photo tutorial for it, because that was one of the requests for applying. So in case you are wondering how I put this card together, check the photo below.

Some people asked what dies I used on this card, so here's the list:
Cherry Lynn: Polynesian Sails
Spellbinders: Standard large circles, Picot edge circles, Floral ovals
Joy crafts: Ice crystal border
Sizzix: Snowman
Nellie's: Stars
Unbranded: small decorative border

I hope this helps. :) If you have any other question just ask!

So much from me today. See you again soon! xx

Christmas in August

Hello! :) How are you doing? I hope the temperatures are not too high where you live. We had a terrible heat wave last week, but this week it's better - we got some rain and temperatures dropped down a bit. Now it's actually possible to go outside for a walk and enjoy it.

Have you started thinking about Christmas yet? I know it still seems far away, but I know I should start working on my cards now if I want to have enough to send to my friends when the time comes. Especially with my crafting "speed". ;) This Christmas card I'm about to show you was made for one very nice lady. We decided to do a Christmas in August card swap. I was feeling like making a vintage style card, so here's the result.

This card was inspired by one of the cards on my friend's Pamellia cards. To me she's the queen of shabby chic/vintage style so when I am in the mood for making something in that style and am in need of some inspiration I hop to her blog and am always in awe of her creations.

For my card I used some papers that I has in my stash. I distressed the edges and started layering patterned paper on pieces of white cardstock. All the layers are glued on top of each other with foam pads, which gives the card some dimension.

Image is embossed with gold embossing powder from Ranger. I decorated the card with some flowers, ribbon/lace, wooden snowflakes and pearl stars. When everything was glued together I randomly sprinkled some gesso mixed with water over the card.

So much from me today. Have a beautiful day! xx

Unicorns are magical

Aren't they? And who doesn't need a little magic in their life? I know I do. So I decided to make myself a unicorn. Not from paper as you might think at first, but out of polymer clay. I've decided to put my paper crafting (or at least card making) on hold for a while and do some other crafts for a change. Don't get me wrong, I'm not completely giving up cardmaking. I will still make a card here and there and also post it here (after all, I need to start working on Christmas cards, because it's only 22 weeks away and I just LOVE sending out Christmas cards to my friends), but from now on you will also see some other things on here, not just cards and other paper projects.

So, without further babbling, here's my polymer clay unicorn (pendant)...

It's been a long time since I played with polymer clay, so I took some time to check Pinterest and YouTube for some tutorials, ideas and tips and tricks. Tutorial for making this unicorn is here and I had lots and lots of fun making it. Will definitely make a few more to give away to my friends. :) And I have already found some new polymer clay projects I wanna make. ;)

Have a wonderful day! xx

Beach

Hello everybody! Phew, summer is in full swing here. What's it like over there? Is it also very hot? Here we had some VERY hot days et the beginning of the week, but now it's more bearably, because we got some rain and the temperature dropped a few degrees. Not much though, but I think every single degree counts. Are you planning to go anywhere on vacation this summer? Possibly somewhere by the sea? We were planning on going to Rovinj (Croatia), but we canceled because of everything that was going on with our little girl (who is now feeling fine, thank god!). So instead of a week by the sea we are going on short trips around the country. This week we went to the ZOO, flower garden and botanical garden. In botanical garden they have whale and dinosaur exhibitions which Amadeja really enjoyed, as well as other things for kids, so it was really fun for our little girl. She was running around the place and we were playing hide and seek. Lots and lots of fun. I hope we will go there again in August.

Anyways, I won't go on and on about what we've been up to and what our plans are. I'll rather get to the crafty part. Sounds good? ;)

A new challenge just started at The Sketchy Challenges blog and this forthnight the theme is "beach". Perfect for the summer, right? I know that for many of you this might seem like a very easy theme, but for me it was a real challenge. I don't really do summer cards. I mean, if the challenge is "summer" I will chose bright colours that to me scream summer, but that's it. Occassionally I might add an ice cream image or use another summer image on my creation, but not often. Well, for this challenge I couldn't get away with using just bright colours and I don't have any beach stamps. I was checking some digis and was even thinking about buying one or two, but I am not a big fan of digi images to be honest, so at the end I decided against that and became determined that I will find another way (besides drawing, which was sort of my back-up plan). And I did! I created a beach (scene) using the cute sand castle and starfish stamps from the TGF Little mermaids stamp set and the sand rubber stamp from Rubber dance's Retro beach stamp set.

It's a shaker card! Aren't these fun?! I kept the design of my card CAS. The only embellishment I used are those tiny pearls I glued on a banner. The sentiment is from the Little mermaids stamp set as well.

So much from me today. Enjoy the summer! :) xx
