Paper flower tutorial

Hi everybody! Today I made my very first video tutorial - I made a tutorial on how to make these paper flowers using the TH Tattered florals die.

I was SO nervous. Gosh! I hope you will like it. Sorry if I made any mistakes and for my accent. English isn't my first language as you could probably guess. lol So, here's the video ...

I decided to also do a step by step tutorial (with pictures) here on my blog. So, here we go ...

What you need:
- TH Tattered floral die,
- glue,
- a stick or something like this (I used a bbq stick),
- a button or pearl or brad or something similar for the center of your flower,
- paper.

You will need 2 of the biggest flowers, two of the smallest flowers and 2 of the middle size flowers (the 6 petals ones).

Take one big flower and roll each side of the petal towards the center so you'll get sort of a pointed look.

Do this with all the petals on both big flowers and both medium size flowers.

Now take the smallest flower and fold each petal on half. Do this with all the petals on both small flowers.

Now take the two biggest flowers, put some glue on the back of one of them and place that one on top of the other.

Now take the two medium size flowers and repeat this step.

Do the same with the small flowers.

Now take the big and the meddium flowers and put some glue on the back of the medium flower. Now place the meddium flower in the center of the big one.

Now take the small flower and place it in the center of your bigger flower.

Now take a pearl, a button or something like this and glue it to the center of your flower.

And you're done. :)

I hope you like this flower and that you'll give it a try. If you do, I'd love to see it. ;)

Have a great day! Hugs!

A request

Hello everybody! Today I don't have any project to show you, but I would like to ask you for a favour. I can't say much on here, but if you are interested in what it is, please leave a comment below or send me an email. And don't worry, if I tell you what is this all about and you decide you can't or don't want to "take part" in this, that's fine. :) However, I will send a little something (no, I'm not telling you what that is, it's a surprise :P) to one of you that will help (I'll probably ask my sweetie to draw a winner). The winner will be announced on my blog on Valentine's day, February 14.
I wish you all a wonderful day! :)
Hugs!

Love is red and black

Phew, another day is over. I'm very much looking forward to the weekend so I can relax a bit. I am planning to do as little as possible - mainly I just want to rest and craft. Do you have any extra plans for the weekend?

Today a new challenge started at Crafty ribbons blog. As Valentines will be here before you know it, we decided to have a "love" challenge; the theme of our new challenge is "Love is red and black". Look at what I made ...

I used different ribbons from Crafty ribbons - I used heart string in red colour, 6 mm grosgrain ribbon and black 25 mm sheer ribbon. I also used a border punch. The red dp is from Folia. I cut the hearts free-hand out of white cardstock.

I hope you will come and play with us! :) There's also a wonderful prize to be won.

Oh, and don't forget to check the Crafty Ribbons challenge blog to see if you won any of the prizes from the blog hop. ;)

The winner of my blog hop prize is Cathy Lee. Congrats hun! :) Please e-mail me with your address to claim your prize.

I'd like to enter my project to the following challenges:
Paper Play Challenges: Ribbon every which way
Crafty Creations Challenges: Valentine theme
The pretty little ribbon: Be my Valentine

Favourite colour combination

Heya! First I'd like to apologize because I haven't been visiting your blogs very often lately. I'm having a very busy time at work and barely have any free time. I promise to visit you all as soon as I have some more time on my hands.

Today started a new challenge at MMCS challenge blog and for this challenge we want you to make a card or another project using your favourite colour combination. I have quite a few favourite colour combinations, but this time I decided to go for pastels. I love soft pastel colours and I really like combining these colours - pink, blue, yellow and a little bit of brown. Here's my card ...

I made this card for a very nice lady. I hope she will like it! The card is already on its way, but I don't think is has reached its destination yet. I used some solid colour paper from my stash and pink paper from Artsy collage Nature collage kit. The image is a Sweet Pea rubber stamp. The doily is from my stash - it was originally white, but I colored it with TH Brushed corduroy distress ink. The pearls and lace are from my stash and the "thank you" ribbon is from Crafty ribbons. I colored the image with Jolly and Faber Castell pencils. I also used diamond Stickles.

I wish you a wonderful day!

Here come the girls

Hi there! We have a new challenge for you at MMCS blog. Our challenge this week is "Here come the girls". Here's my card ...

On my card I used the lovely Willow with champagne stamp from Whiff of joy. I don't see this stamp in the MMCS store, but they have many other wonderful Whiff of joy stamps that you can choose from. On the edges I stamped with clear stamps from Hobbycraft. I colored the image with Promarkers and gold glittery gel pen. The ribbon, crystals, flowers and charm are from my stash. The DP is from Heidi Grace.

I'd like to enter this card to the following challenge:
Whiff of joy challenges: Charms and bling

That's all from me today. Sorry for the short post, but I've had another loooooooooong day and I am exhausted.

Hugs!

Starting early

I always end up doing Christmas and New Years cards at the last minute. Last year I was off to a good start, but unfortunately it didn't go on like this through whole year so again I was in a rush when December came. So this year I REALLY want to do my best to have a pile of Christmas and New Year cards ready in time. This was my New Year's resolution (along with "eat less chocolate"). Hopefully I can make it.

Here's my first New Year's card I made in 2012.

I used the cute Lily of the valley angel stamp and for the first time ever I did some paper piecing - I paper pieced the dress. I love the result and I really don't get it why it took me so long to try paper piecing. I'll definitely do it again! I colored the rest of the image with Promarkers, Faber Castell pencils and TH Shabby shutters distress ink. On the wreath I also used Viva decor pearl pen and on the wings I used diamond Stickles. The star paper is from Folia and the brads and snowflake confetti are from my stash. The ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons (from their Pink Kitty pack that is now for sale and you can get it for only £1).

I'd like to enter this card to the following challenges:
Sweet stamps: Winter
Lili's little fairies: New beginnings
Crop Stop: Go for the gold
Simon says: New something (new stamp, new technique)

Well, that's it for today. I hope you had a nice weekend and I wish you a great week ahead! Hugs!

Crafty ribbons blog hop

Hi everybody! Remember when I told you about a little "secret" in one of my previous posts? Well, now it's the time for the "secret" to be revealed. ;) I was talking about the fabulous sale at Crafty ribbons and about the Crafty ribbons blog hop that starts today.

You definitely want to check out the sale, because now you can get many fabulous ribbons for a great price, just £1. Wow, right? And that's not all ... Each of the DT has some fabulous ribbons to give away on their blog for those who will join the blog hop, so be sure to visit them all. There are sooooo many fabulous prizes to be won!

Here's what you can win on my blog ...

(image is by Crafty ribbons)

It's a Christmas bear pack. :) To be in the chance to win these fabulous ribbons all you need to do is to leave a message on this post, saying that you are joining us on the blog hop. As simple as that. :)

But wait, there's more. ;) At each stop there will be a word to collect (in case you haven't figured it out yet, my word is "fabulous" ;)). Once you collected all 12 words, work out the phrase and leave it in the comments back in the Crafty ribbons challenge blog. Each of you who will get the phrase right, will get in the draw for the main blog hop candy. The main blog hop prize is a £20 voucher for the Crafty ribbons shop.

You should have arrived here from Carol's blog, but if you are just joining us for the blog hop now, go to the Crafty ribbons challenge blog, where you will find the complete list.

But did we stop here? Of course not! ;) We also have a new challenge for you and the theme is "New beginnings" (new baby, new job ...). We will randomly draw the winners of the challenge AND the blog hop. See, I told you there are many prizes to be won ... ;) The challenge winner will receive a ribbon bag.

CONTENTS MAY VARY!

Right, now on to my card. I am always short on baby cards so I made one for this challenge.

This one was a bit different for me because I didn't do any stamping. I can hardly believe it myself. lol I used the DP from Provo Craft and I made the baby pram using the circle Spellbinders dies and my border punch. I embossed the yellow paper on the back of the pram with Cottage floral embossing folder from Craft concepts. The pearls are from my stash and the sweet teddy bear ribbon is from Crafty ribbons.

Now I want to send you to Tessa and Anke, who have another beautiful card to show you, another fabulous pack of ribbons to give away and another word for you to complete the phrase. :)

All the winners will be announced at the start of our new challenge, that is 19. 1.

Have a wonderful day and I hope you'll have lots of fun hopping around the Blogland. :)

Today we started a first challenge in this year at MMCS challenge blog. And our theme this week is "Something new". We would like you to use a new crafty tool/stamp/embellishment that you got from Santa (or bought it yourself) or you can also make a car about a new job, a new car etc. Our sponsor this week is Jellypark.

I embossed the white paper in the background with Cuttlebug Fleur de lis embossing folder and the white paper behind the image is embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss dots embossing folder. I decided that in my first post of this year I will show you a necklaces that I made some time ago, using wire and semi precious stones. These necklaces are super easy and super fun to make. And I just love how they look when you are wearing them too.

Necklace in brown tones.

And the close-up.

I hope you like these necklaces. :)

So much from me today. I'll be back soon with more cards and ... This part I'm not telling you. *naughty grin* You'll have to wait for the right time. But don't worry, the "secret" will be revealed in a couple of days. ;)
