Have some chocolate

Hey hey! So we've made it, we got to the end of this strange and challenging year. While it was very different from what we probably expected when it started, I think it also thought us a lot. We learned to be more patient, made us realize what is the most important... So in my opinion not everything was bad. For me, the best thing was the fact that I got to spend more time with my hubby and my lil one. For me that was precious. That being said, let's hope for a covid-free new year. I wish each and every single one of you a very happy 2021. May it be the best year yet!

I've been wanting to colour this image for a looooooong time, but for some reason I never get around to do it - til now. I don't really do New Year's resolutions, but I've decided I will try to use stamps I've had in my stash for a while, but haven't used yet (or haven't used in a long time) for one reason or another.

I coloured the image with polychromos. The papers I used are from Maja design and the flowers are from I am roses and from my stash. I finished the card off with somecrystals, pearls, small bow and metal love charm. I thought it went perfectly with the image. Do you agree? I'm trying to be good and use what I already have in my stash before buying any new craft supplies. I wonder how long will I manage to do this. lol

That's it for me today. Have a wonderful day and see you again soon! :)

Have a magical birthday

Hello everybody! How was your Christmas? I hope you had a lovely day with your loved ones. We had a very relaxing day at home. We had fun with the gifts Santa brought us, we ate some yummy food, watch some Christmas movies and did a lot of cuddling. It was a perfect day!

Today I would like to show you another card that I made recently - and for a change this one is not Christmassy. Shocking, I know. :P I made this card for my friend's birthday. Since she's already received it it's safe to post it online. :) Do you like making and sending cards for/to your friends and family on their birthdays? I sure do. It's just a simple gesture to let them know you are thinking of them on their special day.

On this card I combines some of my favourite things - gorgeous papers from Craft and you, beautiful flowers from I am roses and one of the sweetest little fairies from Mo Manning (this is a Stampavie stamp, called Birthday fairy Lee). I coloured this cutie with polychromos and I covered her wings with stickles. I love how sparkly they are! I finished the card off with some pearls, crystals and small butterflies.

So much from me today. See you again soon. :)
Have a wonderful day! xx

Holiday hugs

Hello lovlies. How are you doing?

The other day when I was writing Christmas cards my lil one came around and asked me which of those cards is for her. I explained to her that all of those cards are for our friends and family members. She looked me with those big eyes and said: "But they are so pretty. I want one too." So I promised her that I will make another card just for her so she can display it in her bedroom. She wasn't too keen about this idea, because she knew this means she would have to wait a couple of days for her card, but when I told her she could choose the image herself she agreed. :) She chose the cute snowman stamp from Stamping Bella. I also love this snowman. I thin it's very cute and I feel like he has his hands up in the air like this because he wants to give everybody a hug. :D

My lil one loves pink (who would have thought, right?! :P) so I wanted to make a card in pink tones, but I realized I don't have any pink dp that would be suitable for a Christmas card. *ooops* So I changed my plan and went for purple and torquise colour combination. And I added some yellow(ish) gold snowflakes for that extra splash of colours. The lil missy was happy with the card, which is most important.

Papers are from my stash and so are all the embellishments. I coloured the image with polychromos and added some diamond stickles on the white parts of the hat.

When I showed my daughter this card her first reaction was "wow", and then immediately followed this question: "Where are the hearts?" I had an "ummmmm" moment for a couple of seconds, because hearts were not part of the original request. Luckily I used the La La Land snowflakes (my favourite snowflake dies!) on this card and they have small heart shaped holes in them. So I showed those to my daughter and luckily she was happy with that. Now this card is displayed on a shelf in her bedroom.

As this is my last post before Christmas, let me wish you a merry Christmas. May it be filled with love and laughter despite the strange time we are in right now. I hope you will get to spend it with your loved ones. Hugs! xx

Jingle all the way

Hello everybody! How many of you are counting the days till THE day? Are you done with all the Christmas baking yet? I've already made several different cookies, but I think I will make another batch in a day or two. I've started thinking about what I'll make for Christmas meal as well, but haven't completely made up my mind yet. Any suggestions? What will you be making?

Here's another Christmas card that I sent out this year. I actually thought it would reach its destination by now, but it hasn't. Hopefully it will get there before Christmas.

I was lucky enough to win these adorable reindeer stamps (with matching dies) some time ago and I just knew I will have to use them on some of my cards this year. They are so cute and they make me smile. :) I coloured the images with polychromos and then cut them out with matching dies and glued them on the card.

It's hard to see in the pictures, but the big snowflake behind the images/sentiment is soooooooo sparkly. It's covered with glitters and it looks really nice in my opinion (you can see the glitters better in the second photo). However, I couldn't resist and had to add even some more bling - I used a crystal string from my stash.

That's it from me for today. Have a wonderful day! :)

We wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas ...

Hey hey! How are you doing? I hope you are staying safe and healthy. Do you have any snow where you live? We got a few snowflakes the other day, but not much. It was all gone by the end of the day.

I am back with another holiday card. Once again I used the tree stamp from The Greeting Farm and this time I also included a sentiment stamp from the same set.

Again I used the lovely papers from DCWV and I finished the card off with some bling. I did the colouring with Faber Castell polychromos.

So much from me today. See you again soon! :)

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow ...

Hello everybody! How are you doing? Do you also have a feeling that time is flying by at the speed of the light at this time of year? I honestly don't know where the first half of December went. To me it  feels like it was gone in the blink of the eye.

Have you mailed your Christmas cards yet? Mine went in the mail last week. This should give them enough time to get to their destination.

One of the cards that is already on its way is also this one...

Sorry for bad photos, but the card had to be packed and mailed pretty much immediately after I finished it.

I received this stamp set last year in a swap, but haven't had the chance to use it until now. First I stamped the snowman and seperately I stamped his accessories like bow and hat and placed them onto him. I like this stamp set because it has quite a few stamps - characters and many accessories for them. papers are from DCWV and snowflakes are LLLC and Sizzix dies.

Have a wonderful day! xx

A festive hello

Hello everybody! How was your weekend? Did you have a nice time? We spent it at home, relaxing. It felt really good. On Saturday we finally put on our Christmas tree and decorations, watched some Netflix and Disney+ and we even took an easy way out with lunch - we just made pizza. :) And Sunday was just another easy going day at our place. Playing, watching Netflix/Disney+ and taking it easy. For me this was a perfect weekend.

I'm still working on my Christmas cards when I have time and this is one of those I made in the last couple of days.

I really like this image from LLLC. Isn't this Marci adorable? I decided to use non-traditional Christmas colours for a change. I like how Marci's yellow dress pops up against the pink background. What about you? Do you prefer the traditional Christmas colours when making Christmas cards or do you like non-traditional colours as well? I did the colouring with my polychromos.

I decorated the card with some doilies, pearls and some crystals and I also used a piece of glittery tape on there. It's hard to see in the pictures, but if you look reeeeeeeeeeeally closely and reeeeeeeally caefully you can see that I covered the showflake banner in Marci's hands with diamond stickles so it's really sparkly. What can I say... I love me some bling. ;)

So much from me today. have a wonderful Sunday (what's left of it) and a lovely week! xx

Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree...

Hellooooooo my crafty friends! How are you doing? I hope you are successfully hiding from all the viruses that are lurking around at this time of year. Have you started thinking about Christmas yet? or do you think it's still too early to mention the "C" word? My head is already with Christmas and everything that comes with it. I wonder what will Christmas be like this year. I know it will definitely not be as it was the previous years, but I hope we will still be able to experience at least some of the Christmas magic. I am aware that we might not visit all the friends and family this year, so I am trying to stock up on Christmas cards to mail them when the time comes.

Here's one of the Christmas cards I made recently...

I really like these Christmas trees. They are a TGF stamp that I've had in my stash for a loooooong, long time. They come as one big(ger) stamp, but after I stamped and coloured the image I cut out each of the Christmas trees, raised them on foam pads and glued them onto my card.

For the card I used papers from DCWV. I decorated the card with some crystals, ribbon and metal charm that I've had in my stash for ages (literally!). I used some foam pads between the layers to give the card some dimension.

So much for today. I wish you a wonderful day! xx

A cup of cocoa for you

Hello everybody! How are you doing? I've had a pretty relaxing week. I took some time for myself, I spent a lot of time with my lil one, did some baking, some crafting... Due to the covid situation this year we probably won't be able to spend holidays with family, but I do want to at least send them a card to let them know I'm thinking of them. So the other day I made a list of all the people I want to send Christmas cards to and I realized I still need to make quite a few. Yikes! I will be busy making those over the next couple of weeks. Have you made all your cards yet?

So, what comes to your mind when someone mentions Christmas? My minds immediately go to Christmas lights, the smell of cinnamon, ginger and oranges and cocoa. Love me some of that. There is no better feeling than snuggle under the blanket, drink cocoa and eat some of those yummy Christmas cookies. Mmmm...

Did you know that the fall/winter coffee lovers blog hop started at the Coffee loving cardmakers blog? I love playing at their challenges. :)

This is also the perfect time for you to get some more Christmas cards ready if you still need some.

Most of the time I use rubber/clear stamps on my projects, but when I found this (digi) image I just knew I need to make a card with it.

Isn't this little gnome soooooo cute?! I love this lil fella, he makes me smile. :) You can find this cutie here.

I coloured the image when I was at my parents' place, so I used my mom's prismacolor pencils for colouring (and I just realised I forgot to add some details on the pom pom *ooops*). Usually I choose papers first and colour the image to match the papers, but this time it was the other way around; hence the non traditional Christmas colours on this card. I used several different embellishments on my card - lace, pearls, wooden snowflakes...

Well, that's it from me today. See you again soon! :)
Stay safe! xx

Naughty or nice?

Hello everybody! How are you doing? I hope you are staying safe. We are doing what we can and I hope this will be enough.

But let's rather talk about happier things - like crafting. :) Have you been doing any crafting lately? Right now I'm still making (Christmas) cards, but I'm preparing myself to also bring my beads out of the cabintet, because I want to make some Christmas tree decorations to send them to my friends along with cards. I'll share those with you when they are made, today I want to show you a Christmas card I made with one of my favourite stamp sets from Clearly besotted.

With this card I went for a CAS look. To make this card I used a small (leftover) piece of patterned paper and then I cut some (scalloped) circles, embossed them, raised them on foam pads and then placed them on the card. In the center of two circles I placed two of those adorable angels. I coloured them with polychromos, fussy cut them and raised them on foam pads before placing them on the card. And in the center of the middle circle I placed the sentiment that came with the same set as the lil angels.

Have a beautiful day and stay safe and healthy! xx

Don't be afraid to sparkle

Hello everybody! How are you doing? I hope you are staying safe and healthy. The last two weeks have been pretty hectic for me and I barely had any time for crafting. However, collecting minutes and staying up late(r) I still managed to finish the card I am about to show you.

This card is pretty simple (especially for me lol), but I am still happy with how it turned out, even though I didn't use any design paper or embellishments (shocking, I know - I can't even believe it myself lol). Originally I wanted to use gold glitter paper, but I didn't have any at home and I didn't have time to go to the store and buy some. So I used some of that beautiful gold washi tape to create the background and some corrugated cardstock to give the card some dimension. I really wanted to use the "Don't be afraid to sparkle" stamp from Paperbabe stamps, but I didn't want to just stamp it. For some reason I was determined to emboss the sentiment with gold embossing powder. Well, my embossing pad's days are counted, but somehow I still managed to get it to work just enough to emboss the sentiment and some stars, which are also a Paperbabe stamp. After the stars were embossed I cut them out with my scissors. From a gold cardstock I cut a star and embossed it with polka dot embossing folder. I glued that on a piece of cardstock and after that put it on a card. And that's it. It really was that simple.

Bookmarks for kids

The other day I saw a challenge which was about making a bookmark for a child. My daughter loves books so I thought it would be fun to create a bookmark which we could use for the books we read together. At first I was thinking about making an origami kind of bookmark, but after some googling I came around this simple but adorable animal bookmarks and decided to make one two of those. I followed this tutorial and made cute foxy and puppy bookmarks. Since I thought the white was too plain I decided to draw some black dots/spots on the bookmarks to make them more interesting.

Here are some additional photos of the bookmarks so that you can imagine what they look like in a book.

Foxy bookmark...

And puppy bookmark...

I'm sorry for the bad photos of the bookmarks in the book, but the lighting wasn't the best when I took them.

What I like about these bookmarks is that they really stay in the book and don't fall out so easily.

White on white

Hello everybody! How are you doing? Can you belive we are already in the last days of September? I think this month just flew by.

The card I'm about to show you is different (in several ways) than the cards you normally see on my blog. First of all, it doesn't contain any stamped images. And second of all - it's all white. I've always admired those completely white cards, because I think they look really elegant, but I've always been "afraid" to make myself. But the other day I saw there was a "white on white" challenge, and I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try to make a white Christmas card.

My original plan was to make a white Christmas card and then just emboss a nice (Christmas) sentiment with the golden embossing powder on it. Well, that plan failed as soon as I wanted to do some stamping, because my embossing stamp pad was completely dry. So I put my thinking cap on and started looking for solution. I thought of a Stampin up rub ons that I've had in my stash for quite a while and decided to use the "joy" sentiment as the center of my card. I glued some small pearls over it. As you can see I used two different enbossing folders and corrugated cardstock to get some lovely textures on my card. I used foam pads between the layers for some extra dimension. I finished the card off with some die cuts, lace and some extra pearls.

So much from me today. Have a lovely day! xx

Celebrate

Hello, lovely people! How are you? Ready for the weekend? I sure am. I just want to stay home and relax.

Today I would like to share with you a card I made for my friend's birthday. She's a cat person so I knew that this Wild rose studio image is perfect for the card I was making for her.

For a change I coloured the image with distress inks. I used beautiful papers from Craft and you and some gorgeous flowers from I am roses (+ some from my stash) to decorate the card. I stamped the sentiment and then went over it with Sakura gel pen to make it more sparkly.

So much for today. Have a beautiful day! xx

Crafting with the lil one

Hello everybody! Fall is just around the corner and with it also school and kindergarten. So I've been trying to spend as much time as possible with my lil one while I still can. Today we had a crafty day. She really enjoys colouring (I've lost count of how many colouring books we've used over the last year) and playing with my stamps. And for the last 6 months or so she's been really stickers too, so lately we've been buying a lot of those sticker books. I'm pretty sure we have all (some even double) that are possible to buy at out local bookstore. lol So when we were preparing our crafting table today we had to include all of those elements - stamps, stickers (LOTS of them!), bling and pencils. ;)

We started of by making a sign for my daughter's bedroom. You see, she got her own room a few months ago and now she wants EVERYBODY to know that. lol So making a sign that says that is her room seemed like a good idea.

It started with a white cardstock on which my lil one wrote her name. Then she stamped on some presents, coloured them and decorated the sign with some stickers and heart crystal.

After we made the sign we decided to make birthday cards for her grandpa and her auntie who will have their birthdays in September and October.

For the card my daughter made for her auntie she decided to draw a meadow with some flowers, sun and sky. She completed the card with some (dimensional) stickers, butterfly shaped sequin and heart crystal.

When making a card for her grandpa she started of the same way (drawing some grass, sun and sky), but then she decided to do some stamping as well. She chose one of the adorable lions from Clearly besotted, stamped that onto her scene and coloured it. She decorated the card with some stickery, sequins and super sparkly star.

Lastly she decided she needs a card for herself as well (of course, lol). For that she decided to use some of those adorable kitty stamps from The Greeting Farm. Under them she used one of her own stamps (she got in in Kinder surprise) to create some paw prints. She decorated the card with some stickers and drew some water for the dolphins (that's that blue "thingy" in case you were wondering lol).

We both had lots of fun crafting and I can't wait for us to do that again. :)

Have a wonderful day! xx

I'd like to enter my daughter's creations to the Kid's summer vacation challenge at Simon says stamp blog.

Happy birthday

Hey hey! How are you doing? Good, I hope. :)

Today let me show you a card I made for the birthday of one lovely lady...

I used one of the old(er) images from hAnglar which I coloured with pencils. The sentiment is from Mama elephant. The papers came from my stash and so did the bigger flowers. The smaller ones are  from I am roses. I also used some lace, pearls and crystals to decorate my card.

So much from me today. :)

Blessed Christmas

Hello everybody. Is anybody else already thinling about Christmas or is it just me? I know it's only August, but with school starting in about 2 weeks I think the time will just fly by and December will be here before we know it. I am pretty sure I will be quite busy with work over the next month(s), so I already started working on my Christmas cards - to be ready to send them out when the time comes. ;)

The one I am about to show you is CAS. I am still struggling with this style, but I do like to challenge myself every now and then and make something a bit differently than I usually do.

I still remember the first time I saw this angel stamp on one of my friend's cards. I immediately knew I had to get this set and up to date it is still one of my favourites when making Christmas cards. In case anyone is wondering... It is a Clearly besotted stamp set. ;) And the sentiment is from La La Land crafts.

I decided to make a shaker for a change. I think shakers are really fun, but for some reason I don't make them very often.

I embossed the background and just added some pearls to decorate the card.

So much for today. Have a wonderful day!

Summer card

Hello everybody! How are you doing? Are you enjoying summer? We are. We went to the sea and did some other trips last month. We had some more plans for August, but we had to change (postpone) those due to covid situation. This nasty virus really changed our lives, hasn't it?

Today I would like to show you a summer themed card I made some time ago. I don't use digi stamps often, but I just had to print this mermaid digi from The Greeting Farm, because I liked it so much.

I've always admired the different hair colours people used when they were colouring images. I've always wanted to do that too, but for some reason didn't have the courage to do it. Well, this time I got "brave" :P and gave the mermaid pink hair. And I'm actually happy with how they turned out.

The papers are from kaiserkraft. Besides the crystals I didn't use any embellishments. Instead I "decorated" the card with different die cuts.
