Stitching on card

Hey, hey! :) Have you been watching soccer World cup? I have to admit that I barely ever watch soccer, but I do watch World cup. Not all the games (I'm not that big of a soccer fan that I'd stay up til midnight just to watch the game), but many. :)

Yesterday was a holiday here so this means no work. :) Me and my sweetie were invited to a pizza party to our friends and since we both like pizzas, of course we just had to go. ;) It was lots of fun and pizza was yummy. We'll have to do this again some time. :)

Just a few more days and then I'll have quite some time off. Can't wait! I already have sooooooo many plans about what I'll do. :D I've had my eyes on one bracelet that I've been wanting to make for a while now, but haven't had the time yet, so that's on the top (or very close to it) of my list. Other than that I'm planning to do some paper crafting as well and hopefuly I'll also get to do some short trips around the country.

Anyways ... I better stop babbling and rather show you what I've made ... ;)

This week's theme at Crafty ribbons blog is stitching (real or faux). My jaw dropped when I saw this theme. I do like  the look of stitching on cards, but to be perfectly honest with you, I'm terrible at stitching (it's on my looong list of "things I want to learn" though). So when I saw this challenge I was "uh-oh". I know that I had the option of going for faux stitching, but I don't like that much, so I was determined to give the real stitching on paper a go. Especially after seeing Linda's awesome tutorial. So, I grabed my sew easy tool and went to work. :) And the result is here ...

At the beginning I had the idea of doing stitching all around the card, but then I changed my mind and stitched just the blue paper in the middle. I think that's more than enough for the first time. lol

I decided to use Tilda with peony as my center image. She's coloured with distress inks. Papers are from Magnolia (thank you Linda!), Scrapworks and my stash. I made the rolled flower myself and the rest came from my stash. Doily and pearls came from my stash as well. I got the pins from the lovely Linda - as a part of the candy I won at her blog. Thanks a lot girl! :)

All of the ribbons I used are from Crafty ribbons. I used 35 mm satin ribbon - new turq, 25 mm wedding satin ribbon and bolo blue seam binding ribbon which is unfortunatelly out of stock in the moment, but you can choose from maaaaany more gorgeous seam binding ribbons that Ali and Tony have in store. Corner and decorative oval are Spellbinders dies and the small butterflies were made with my craft punch.

I hope you'll come and play with us this week. I can't wait to see your stitching projects. :)

I'd like to enter my card to the following challenges:
Tilda's town: Dies and/or punches
Magnolia-licious: Summer buggy fun

Shabby chic box

Hello there! Phew, I finally have some blogging time again. These last 2 weeks have been super hectic at work, but now things are calming down. I'm really looking forward to the weekend to get some rest. I'm not sure wherthere Ill go somewhere or I'll just stay at home, but I know I will relay. I've already paid a visit to the library to get some chic lit. :)

During these last couple of weeks I barely get to do any crafting, but still, I managed to finish this box that I want to show you today. I hope you like it!

I got this image from a friend of mine and I thought it would be perfect for this box. It's a Magnolia stamp. I coloured the image with distress inks. The papers I used for making this card came from Scrapworks' Formal affair 12x12 paper pad. I think this was my first ever pad of scrapbooking paper I bought. :)

I inked the edges with TH distress ink. All of the embellishments came from my stash. I made the small cream rolled flowers myself and the other flowers are store bought.

I don't know what I'll do with this box yet, but I think it's always good to have one or two of those on hands for those "emergency" times. :) I really enjoyed making it though. It was nice to make something different from a card for a change.

I'd like to enter my box to the following challenges:

Henry celebrating mouse

Hello everybody! How are you today? I'm having a day off and I'm planning to do some housework and hopefully I'll also manage to make a card later today. We have a christening coming up on Sunday and I want to make a card for the occassion.

Anyways, it's Thursday today which means we have a new challenge for you at Crafty ribbons. It was my turn to choose a theme and I chose a very easy one, I promise. ;) This week we want to see your creations with butterflies and ribbons. Easy peasy, right? I LOVE butterflies and I use them on most of my projects so I guess this didn't come as a big surprise for you, did it? ;)

Here's the card I made.

A friend of mine let me play with her Henry celebrating mouse stamp the other day and I couldn't wait to use this cutie on my card. I coloured the image with Faber Castell pencils and covered the white piece of cupcake with glitter glue. The papers are from Wild rose studio and they have butterflies printed on them, but I covered a great portion of them. *ooops* Flowers, doily, pearls and bead string that I put around Henry came from my stash. For the center of the flowers I used gold brads. Those are from my stash as well. The butterfly border die is from Joy crafts and the other dies I used are from Spellbinders. Small butterflies were made with my craft punch. Both ribbons came from the Crafty ribbons store. You can find the white satin ribbon here and the yellow ribbon here. The circle behind Henry was embossed with Ann Griffin's reflected damask embossing folder. The sentiment is in slovenian and it says "sincere congratulations".

I hope many of you will join our challenge this week. Can't wait to see what you'll make. :)
Hugs! xx
