Something CAS for a change

Hello! :) Can you believe we are in the last days on January?? Where did this month go?! O.o

You know what comes with Fabruary, right? Valentine's day! :) A day on which you can eat lots of chocolate without feeling guilty (I mean, it would be just rude not to eat that yummy chocolate you get from your hubby/bf, right?). He he. My sweetie loves chocolate and that's why I'm giving him (one of) his favourite chocolate bars for Valentine's this year. He will get his chocolate neatly packed in a decorated paper bag that I just made. It's a very simple one (faaaar from my usual style), but you can't really decorate men's gift with lots of flowers and butterflies etc., can you?

So, here's what I made ...

See, I told you it's very, very CAS. I wanted the sentiment to be in the center of attention on this bag. The sentiment "love" is a new die from Whimsy stamps - you can buy it here. I die cut the sentiment from the white cardstock which I then embossed and glued on top of the red cardstock. I made sure I didn't lose any of the small parts of the die cut sentiment so I could spell the word love as it's supposed to look. Then I just added two small heart shaped crystals and some  heart ribbon from Crafty riboons to decorate the front.

This is how the back looks like. As you can see I kept that very simple as well. I just used used 2 brads and some twine to make a closure and ome corner die cuts that I cut with Whimy corner dies set. The decorative border was made with my border punch.

Have you started working on your Valentine's day projects yet?

Have a wonderful day!
Hugs! xx

A perfect day

Hey hey! :) Have you been enjoying your weekend? I sure have, but it's been coming to an end way too quickly. But it's the say every week, isn't it?

A short while ago I bought an animal class from Alyce at Kit and Clowder, but I didn't have many of the markers I needed so yesterday I did some serious shopping; I bought quite some markers so now I can actually start practicing. Can't wait! :) I've already put some of those markers to use - though not for colouring animals. But for colouring Anya from The greeting farm. :) I really like this image and therefore I made another card with it.

I coloured the image with Promarkers. I think this was the first time I coloured the black hair with markers. I know I still need A LOT of practice (and probably another marker or 2), but for the first time I don't think it was THAT bad.

Not really a typical card for me. I'm always scared of using black on my cards/creations, but Rosemary and Stephanie totally rock this (and I LOVE their creations!), so I decided to give it a try too. Thank you so much ladies for inspiring me and for making me step out of my comfort zone! :)

The gorgeous papers came from Prima Romance novel paper pad. The sentiment and the tags I used on my card also came from the same paper pad - I cut those out with my scissors.

I used so many different embellishments on my card - everything from buttons, brads, flowers, doily, paper clip, pearls and sequins to ribbon. :) Here's a closer look of the flowers and the buttons (that "snail house" is a button as well).

All of those embellishments came from my stash.

I raised the image and the sentiment on foam pads to give the card some dimension.

So much from me today. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and don't work too hard at work tomorrow. ;)
Hugs! xx

Anything but a card

Good morning on this cloudy Thursday. :) I hope you have more sun where you live. We're in winter right now, but somehow it feels more like autumn - lots of rain (no snow, rain!!! :S), boring gray days, autumn temperatures ... Not my favourite type of weather. But enough about the weather. Let's rather talk about crafty things. ;)

A new challenge started at Crafty ribbons blog today and the theme is "anything but a card". At first I thought I would either make a box or alter a Pringles can, but then I changed my mind and made another gift bag instead.

Before I show you the bag I want to tell you that Ali put some gorgeous new ribbons (I personally loooove the new music ribbons!) to the store and in a day or two she will also add lace. Lots and lots of gorgeous lace. I LOVE lace!! :D Some are already in the store, but there are more to come. ;) Here are some sneak peeks ...

So hop to the store and check out what else is new. :)

Now to my gift bag ...

For a change I didn't use a cute image on my project. ;) But I did use a butterfly. lol This butterfly is a clear stamp from CTMH and I just love it. I stamped the butterfly on a white cardstock and then cut it out with my scissors and craft knife. I sprinkled some frantage on the butterfly's wings - I hope you can see how sparkly it is. :D

I used a piece of paper that has been in my stash for like forever. Flowers, doily, pearls and bling are from my stash as well. I added some glitter glue to the flowers. The little bows came from my stash too. I sewed a small golden bead to the center of each bow. I used 3 different ribbons on this project. They are all from Crafty ribbons. You can find the white sheer ribbon here, the white grosgrain ribbon here and the butterfly ribbon here

So much from me today. I hope you will join our challenge. I'd love to see what you come up with. :)
Have a great day!
Hugs! xx

Swishy skirt

Hey, hey! :) How are you? I'm looking forward to the weekend, because the last couple of days have been pretty hectic. It's a good thing we are already at the middle of the week. :)

Today I would like to show you a gift bag that I made with one of the newly released images from the Whimsy stamps store. She's called "Swishy skirt" and she's from the "Time for tea" collection.

Isn't she cute? And so versatile! I love this image. :) She's coloured with distress inks.

The papers I used all came from my stash and so did the brown ribbon, doily and flowers. The white ribbon in from Crafty ribbons. Thse patterned flowers are actually dimensional stickers that I've had in my stash for a long, long time. But I knew they would come in handy one day. He he. ;)

I hope you like my creation and that you'll enjoy the rest of the week!
Hugs! xx

Who wants a cupcake?

Hey, hey! :) How are you? I've been having a veeeery lazy weekend. It was raining cats and dogs yesterday and it was a really sleepy day so I decided to use that day to do some crafting. And here's what I came up with ...

I had a few sheets of the gorgeous Prima Tea Thyme paper pad left and I decided to make a card with them, I used the adorable double cupcake Anya as my main image. She's coloured with Promarkers and Faber Castell pencils (for shading) and I also used some glitter glue on parts of her dress and on the cupcakes. The white circle die cut behind Anya was embossed with Craft Concepts' embossing folder.

I used a lot of pearls and flowers to embellish my card, along with doilies, ribbon and lace. And some butterflies - of course. :P All of my favourite things. ;)

I raised Anya on foam pads to give the card some dimension.

It was nice to make a card "just because".

Enjoy the rest of the Sunday!
Hugs! xx

New year, new project - Balsa box

Hello! :) How are you? Has the year 2015 been good for you so far? I can't complain. :) We took down our Christmas decorations and I even did some crafting. ;)

The other day I was browsing Pinterest (gotta love that site, but it is sooooo addictive) and came across a gorgeous balsa box. The link only went to the picture and as the picture didn't have any watermark it took me a while to figure out who made it. But with the help of Google I figured it out. ;) The box that I was inspired by was made by Leonie (I hope I spelled her name right) and you can check out her YouTube video if you want to see the box she made. She got the idea from another person on YouTube (SaCrafters) and she mention that lady also has a tutorial on that box so I went to her channel, checked out the tutorial and came out with this ...

I don't usually use black on my creations, but I do like pink and black colour combination A LOT and as soon as I saw that box I knew which papers I wanted to use. So ... I used some leftover pieces from the Prima Romance Novel paper pad (the black paper) and a 12x12 sheet of Daisy D's patterned paper (the pink paper).

As you can see I used a lot of flowers on my box. Lots and lots. ;) They are from Prima, Wild orchid craft ... From many different companies. Of course I had to add some butterflies on my box as well. ;) Those butterflies were made with a mod podge mold. I got a couple of those from my friend (thank you so much girl!!) and I just love them. I've mostly been using them to make butterflies (go figure lol), but I did make a couple of other things as well. :)

(this is the back of the box)

Besides flowers and butterflies I also used some pom pom trim, lace and bead trim to decorate my box. Oh, and bling. lots and lots of bling too. He he. ;)

It's very hard to catch all the details of this box on camera, but I did make a video for this project which you can check out if you want. :)

I hope you like my first project of 2015. :) Can't wait to hear what you think.

Have a wonderful day!
Hugs! xx
