Baby boy mini album for a good friend

A couple of days before Christmas my sweetie got a wonderful news - he became uncle. :D His sister gave birth to a beautiful baby boy Lukas. We got to see the little guy for the first time on Christmas eve. We did put a little something for him under the Christmas tree, but we also wanted to give something to the  happy parents. My bf's sister is also a crafter, but she mainly makes cards. However, I know she loves mini albums and while we were living together she's always been admiring the ones I was working on. So I decided to make a mini album for Lukas.

All the design papers came from All about a boy paper pad from Echo Park. I love the brigth colours of those papers and I thought they would be perfect for a baby boy album.

Here's the cover ...

First I added some glitters on the papers. Then I used my foam letter stickers to spel baby's name (Lukas) I decorated the letters with some metal animals. The adorable image is from Yumi and Fumi Handmade. Isn't it cute?! I think it's perfect for boy projects. I just stamped it on the kraft cardstock and cut it out. Since this is an envelope mini album, there are lots of pockets which means lots of extra space for photos and journaling.

These are the first two pages of the album.

As you will see in the photos, this album is full of tags. I wanted my friend to have lots of place for photos and journaling. You will also see lots of pinwheels and ribbons. I used scraps of papers from the All about a boy paper pad to create pinwheels and the ribbons all came from my stash.

These are 3rd and 4th page of the album

I had this cute wooden sun in my stash for a while and I thought it would look great on the page. On the bottom I used the sentiment that came with the paper pad (I just cut it out). It says "You are my boy and you are loved". On the 4th page I created a pocket with a leftover piece of envelope, decorated it and made two tags to put inside.

These are 5th and 6th page of the mini album.

See the white bow on the 5th page? This is actually the end of a tag that's hidden behinfd the yellow photo mat. I also created a small pockt with doily lace and put 2 small tags inside. The other page I just decorated with some embellishments from the All about a boy embellishment pack.

These are 7th and 8th page of the mini album.

pI kep these pages pretty simple. I only used some buttons, fluffy stars and a piece of gold mesh to decorate them.

9th and 10th page of the mini album.

Another page with a tag that can be pulled out and another page with photo mats. Aren't those heart buttons cute?

11th and 12th page of the mini album.

Here I used some more of those metal animals and I added a pinwheel in the center. And on the next side I used some more buttons and arrows from the All about a boy embellishments pack.

The back of the mini album.

Phew, that was a lot of photos. I hope you got the idea what the album looks like and that you like it.

Hugs! xx

Paper bag

Hey hey! :) Brrrr, it's cold here. We finally got the winter temperatures and even some snow! I hope it'll last til the second half of February (I have a couple of days off then) so I could go skiing. I used to ski quite a lot, but then I had some problems with my knee and had to out skiing on hold for a while. I think I'm ready to give it a try again this year. Fingers crossed everything will be ok!

But enough about that. Let me rather show you a paper bag I made the other day. I wanted to try something different and this is the result.

I was looking at different bag templates on the internet, but didn' find any that would be the right size, so I made my own. I've had the papers I used for this bag in my stash for what seems like forever, so unfortunately I can't tell you where they are from. The image is Fumi with gift from Yumi and Fumi Handmade. I coloured the with distress inks. Doily, gems and ribbon came from my stash. I made the flowers myself. Corner and circles are Spellbinders dies and butterflies and border were made with punches.

Have a beautiful day!
Hugs! xx

Yumi and Fumi Handmade is closing down :(

I don't know if you heard, but one of my favourite stamp companies (Yumi and Fumi Handmade) is going on hiatus. The store has already closed down and there will not be any new challenges til further notice. You can read all the details here.

I joined Yumi and Fumi Handmade DT last year and I loved every single minute of it. I got to work with a bunch of super talented ladies and I made some wonderful friends along the way. It was an experience I wouldn't trade for anything.

I'd like to take a moment to thank Leanne and Renate' for accepting me in their ohana - you girls rock!!! I still remember the day I found out that I received an e-mail from you, telling me I could join your DT. I couldn't stop smiling. I was just SOOOO happy!!! Thank you so much for this opportunity! Over the time I was a member of Y&FH DT I got to know you girls a bit better and I gotta say it ... You are amazing!!!! Love ya both! *mwah*

Also a big thank you to all the gals from DT. You are all very, very talented and I learned a lot from you. I'm very happy I got to work with you and get to know you a bit better. Thank you all for all the support and for all the smiles! <3 p="">

Sending big hugs your way! xx

Blue angel

Good morning! We are already at the middle of this week. Which means there's not much tome for the weekend. ;) We are supposed to finally get some snow. It felt as if we were stuck in autumn since October, so I'm glad we are about to finally get some winter feeling.

One of my friends is having a birthday at the beginning of February, so I made a card for her. She likes angels so I decided to make a card with an angel image.

I used the sweet Flying angel Tilda and coloured the image with distress inks. On Tilda's wings I added glitter glue. Kraft and blue is one of my favourite colour combinations so I chose papers in these colours. The papers are from Provocraft. I used scissors to distress the edges. Gems, pearls and ribbon came from my stash. I made the flowers with TH Tattered florals die. In the middle of each flower I put a gold brad. I really like those brads, because they are covered with glitters. :D The small ones originally came covered with glitters, and since I didn't have any bigger ones that would be glittery, I just used my gold glitter glue and used it on the brad. I love how it turned out. Behind the image I used a piece of cheesecloth.

So much from me today. Have a wonderful week! Hugs! xx

A card for a special lady

Hey, hey! Today I would like to show you a card I made for a very special lady. She's been going through some tough time lately and I hope this time will cheer her up - at least a little bit.

When I was thinking about which image to choose for my card, my thoughts kept coming back to this adorable angel Tilda. So I used her. :) I colored the image with distress inks and added some glitters on Tilda's wings. The papers, crystals, pearls, doily and ribbon all came from my stash. I made the flowers myself. I made the pink one with TH Tattered floral die and the others were just rolled. I am really into making these rolled flowers lately and I really like the look of them. Leaves are Marianne design dies. I used several other dies and punches for the borders, butterflies, corner ...

I hope the lady I made this card for will like it.

Have a wonderful day!
Hugs! xx

Sketch challenge at Yumi and Fumi Handmade

Good morning! I hope your weekend has been good so far. I have been staying inside all the time. We have a yucky rainy weekend so I'm really not tempted to go out. We're already over the first half of January, but we still have autumn weather (meaning: lots and lots of rain). :S But at least this kind of weather is a good excuse to stay inside and do some crafting. He he.

A new challenge just started at Yumi and Fumi Handmade blog. We have a sketch for you this time.

I decided to make a tag.

I used the adorable Yumi stamp from Yumi and Fumi Handmade and coloured her with distress inks. For this tag I used scraps of papers from my stash. Sequins and ribbon came from my stash as well. The butterflies were made with my craft punch. The oval behind Yumi was embossed with Cuttlebug's swiss dots embossing folder.

I hope you will come play with us. Remember, you don't have to use Y&FH stamps on your creations, but you do need to use a coloured image.

Have a wonderful day! Hugs! xx

Shopping Ellie

Heya! How are you? I hope your week has been good so far. I had a terrible headache yesterday, but luckily I'm feeling fine today. Tomorrow I'm having a looooong day ahead of me, but at least weekend isn't too far away anymore. ;)

I wanted to share a card I made the other day.

I'm sorry because the picture isn't the best, but I don't have my camera at home so I had to experiment with the other one that isn't so good and with which I had no clue what was I doing (my camera has much more settings and I prefer that). Plus, it was pitch black when I was taking the photo, so that's a down side too.

Anyways, I won't bother you with technical things, I'll rather tell you a couple of things about my card. I got this adorable image from The Paper Nest Dolls a couple of days ago and I decided to use it for today's card. I did the coloring with Promarkers. I raised the image on foam pads to give the card some dimension. On the circle behind the image I stamped with Faded text background stamp from Stampabilities. The yellow paper is from Folia and the other papers are from my stash. Both ribbons I used are from Crafty ribbons and the buttons are from my stash. I made the dots on the scalloped circle with Viva decor pearl pen.

So much for now. Have a wonderful day/evening! Hugs! xx

Memories

Good morning! It's finally weekend. Yay! :D I'm planning to do as little as possible - I just want to relax. What are your plans? Going anywhere? I was away the whole day yesterday so I think I will just stay in over the weekend and do some crafting. :)

I want to show you a card I made the other day.

What do you think? Do you like it? To be honest, I wasn't too happy with how it turned out at first, but now it's starting to grow on me.

I really like the sentiment stamps from Cloud 9 so I decided to use one of those on my card. I first stamped the sentiment and then covered it with glitter glue. The sentiment says "Memories are the most beautiful pictures our minds can pain and nothing can ever erase them". All of the papers I used on this card are leftover scraps from my stash. Pearls, bead strings and flowers are from my stash as well. The beautiful lace is from Crafty ribbons. Over the lace I glued some gems that I cut out of a golden mesh. Butterflies were part of the Nature collage kit from Artsy collage and I just cut them out. I also used some Spellbinders and Cart-us dies.

That's it from me for today. Have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs! xx

Just because

Hey hey! How are you? I hope you are having a nice day! I had some troubles getting up in the morning - that happens when you have 4 days off and you can sleep for as long as you want on those days. ;)

I just booked plane tickets for my summer holidays. Once for a change I'm ahead of things. lol My sweetie and I are visiting some friends in England and I'm really excited about it. I'm sure we'll have a wonderful time! Can't wait!

But enough babbling. Let me rather show you a card I made the other day ...

I had so much fun making this card! I love the sweet LLLC image. Isn't Marci adorable?! I coloured her with distress inks and I paper pieced the balloon. I also added some glitter glue on parts of Marci's dress , her hairband and hair tie and on the balloon. I used lots of scraps of papers from my stash. Doily and pearls came from my stash and the stripe ribbon is from Crafty ribbons. I made the flowers myself - using more scraps. :) These are so fun to make! I wonder why I don't make them more often ...

Well, that's it from me today. :) I hope you will have a wonderful evening! Hugs! xx

Wall decoration

So, here it is. The first Yumi and Fumi Handmade challenge in the new year. And we wanted to make it as easy as possible for you so many of you can join, so we have an anything goes challenge for you. So fun, right? I hope you will come play with us. You don't have to use Y&FH stamps to join our challenge, but we'd sure like to see them if you have them. ;)

Last year when we bought a kitchen vent the top was covered with a plastic plate (I'm guessing this was needed so it kept the shape and didn't get damaged). Once the kitchen vent was installed, we had no use of the plate anymore, so we were going to toss it in the bin. But I thought it would make a great wall decoration, so I saved it. :) Don't you just love recycling?! The plate has been sitting in my cabinet for several months and now I decided to alter it. This is the result.

I decorated the plate with some pink and green papers from my stash. The image I used is called Yumi and you can get it in the Yumi and Fumi handmade store. I did the coloring with distress inks. Ribbons, pearls and gems are from my stash. Ovals and border are Spellbinders dies, the bigger butterfly is Cheery Lynn die and the small butterflies are made with craft punch. The letters are made with TH Vintage market die. I covered each letter with glitter glue.

I hope you like my wall decor and that you will come play with us at Yumi and Fumi Handmade!

Hugs! xx

Stempelglede Design Team Call 2014

The title says it all really, doesn't it? ;) When I saw that Gunhild, the owner of Stempelglede line of stamps, is having a design team call, I knew I had to give this a try, because I absolutely love her stamps. Getting ito this DT would be a dream come true for me, so I'm keeping my finger and toes crossed. :) If you want to apply, go to the Stempelglede blog and check what you need to do.

Here's what I made for this design team call ...

I used one of my favourite Stempelglede stamps for the center of my card - Stempelglede's Magic stamp. Isn't it awesome?! I embossed the sentiment with Queen's gold embossing powder and then I sprinkled some copper embossing powder around the sentiment. All the papers came from my stash. The beautiful crochet flowers were made by my mother-in-law-to-be. She knows that I love using flowers on my crojects so she made me some and put them under the Christmas tree along with some other goodies. Isn't she sweet? I added gems/pearls in the center of each flower. I used several different dies from Marianne design, LLLC, Spellbinders and Joy crafts on my card. The big butterfly is MS punch and the small butterflies are made with Pracht punch. Gems, pearls, ribbon and lace came from my stash.

Gunhild asked people who applied to also add three different project to their post, so here are mine.

Another card using the Stempelglede Magic stamp.

Something cute.

Well, that's it for me. Now all I can do is wait and keep my fingers crossed. Good luck to you if you decide to apply as well. :)

Hugs! xx
